Andrea and Herbert Ederer, just announced during the seminars of Zone 21 Institute, that with a donation of $ 1 million they become members of the Legacy Society of The Rotary Foundation. They are the first Rotarians from Europe that join the Legacy society. The Online (via Zoom), Rotary Institute for Zone 21 will be held οn line in Athens, Greece, from12 to 14 November 2020. It will definitely be an enjoyable and very educational event that will bring together past, present and future District Governors and Senior Leaders to share information, exchange ideas and build new connections and fortify old ones.
This year’s tentative program consists of sessions where outstanding speakers will talk about RI and TRF programs, and best practices in the six areas of focus, updates on membership growth. Do not miss a great chance to learn from each other, to make friends and forge relationships that will reinforce the strength of Rotary and affirm the ability to carry on our mission of service.

Facing the extraordinary circumstances due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the Organizing Committee, complying with R. I. recommendations, has decided to organize an online GETS/GNTS and Institute Athens 2020.
Having in mind the health and safety of all Rotarians we believe that this is the best choice.
We will definitely miss the personal interaction and the opportunity to meet our Rotary friends and exchange ideas but we are doing our best to create a new way of communication.

Rotary Institute for Zone 21 will be held in Athens, Greece, from 12th to 15th November 2020 in Grand Hyatt Hotel.
It aspires us to introduce some new concepts to the classic G.E.T.S. (Governors–Elect Training Seminar). Having in mind that it forms the foundation for the International Assembly (IA), our GETS program will focus on Rotary as a global organization, motivating and inspiring DGEs through discussions, activities, and updates on Rotary initiatives. Indeed, we will prepare the incoming class of governors to successfully lead their districts during their year of service.

The venue of the Zone 21 Institute in Athens will be at Grand Hyatt hotel, which is located on the famous Syngrou Avenue, between the cultural center of the historic city of Athens and the cosmopolitan Athenian Riviera. Grand Hyatt Athens offers the ultimate hospitality experience in a city with a heady mix of history and edginess. What a perfect spot to explore the vibrant city of Athens, discover the narrow streets and small buildings of Plaka, and merge into 3.000 years of Greek history while visiting the Acropolis Hill.

This year, the Institute will take place in Athens. The history of Athens is one of the longest of any city in Europe and in the world. Named after Athena, goddess of wisdom and knowledge, Athens has been continuously inhabited since the Bronze Age and is generally considered to be the cradle of Western civilization.
