We are happy to announce the successful completion of the session on ‘Settlement Agreements in Mediation’ of the Virtual International Summer Training Programme on Mediation, 2022, organised by ADR HOC in synergy with CiADR (Centre of International Dispute Resolution), Phoenix Dispute Resolution and International Legal Alliance.
The session was taken up by Prof. Dr. Rajesh Sharma. We would like to thank sir for conducting such an enlightening and intriguing session.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to him for educating our participants about the primal role and significance of the Singapore Convention and its drafting. Sir took a deep dive into the scope of the Application and then broke down the significant definitions including the definition of International (Article 1) and place of business (Article 2) with the help of some illuminating examples. He also stressed upon the criteria to rely on place of business and place of business in the convention. Sir gave a detailed discussion of the various ground for refusing to grant relief and ended the session with intriguing sample problems for a better understanding of the concept.
We would also take this opportunity to thank Prof. Dr. Rajesh Sharma for all his support and contribution to this training programme.

We are happy to announce the successful completion of the session on ‘Role of Lawyers in Mediation’ of the Virtual International Summer Training Programme on Mediation, 2022, organised by ADR HOC in synergy with CiADR (Centre of International Dispute Resolution), Phoenix Dispute Resolution and International Legal Alliance.
The session was taken up by Mr. Sameer Shah. We would like to thank sir for conducting such an illuminating and informative session.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to him for discussing with our participants the role of Mediation as an effective tool of ADR. He dealt with the foundational understanding of what Mediation is and the role of Advocates in the whole process. He did an extremely interesting and informative comparative study between the class of advocates who favour Mediation by understanding that it’s an effective tool to ensure what’s best for their client and also for our judiciary and the class of advocates not in favour of Mediation as a viable process. Sir sufficiently stressed on the significance of the role that an advocate places in the entire process by discussing the Pre-Mediation stage and During Mediation Stage thoroughly. He ended the session with a set of integral rules and disciplines that an advocate should inculcate to be an effective Mediator ensuring a profitable and smooth mediation process.
We would also take this opportunity to thank Mr. Sameer Shah Sir for all his support and contribution to this training programme.

We are happy to announce the successful completion of the second session of Day 6 of the Virtual International Summer Training Programme on Mediation, 2022, organised by ADR HOC in synergy with CiADR (Centre of International Dispute Resolution), Phoenix Dispute Resolution and International Legal Alliance.

The session was taken up by Ms. Chitra Narayan on ‘How to be a good mediator?’. We would like to thank mam for conducting such an insightful and informative session.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to her for educating our participants about the underlying aspects including Court Annexed Mediation, process of explaining the entire system of Mediation and how it’s a voluntary process, joint and private sessions, the clause of confidentiality. Mam then highlighted the other modes of dispute resolution along with Mediation, named Conciliation, Arbitration and Lok Adalats. She stressed upon the aspect of confidentiality while taking into consideration both Mediation and Conciliation and how one of the dispute resolutions mode has got legal backing to it and not the other one. Delving into the history of dispute resolution methods to talking about internal settlements done during Panchayats, mam gave quite an insight into it.

The session was taken up by Dr Adeyemi Agbelusi FICMC, FCIArb on ‘Practical Session on Asking Effective Question’. We would like to thank sir for conducting such an enriching and an enlightening session. Sir touched upon types of effective questions being asked by a Mediator. He introduced to the learners, all the categories of questions with examples for a better understanding and practical learning. Sir put light on the concept of Bias being a very automated response while attending parties to a conflict and taught as to how it could be avoided while being in the chair of a Mediator.

We are happy to announce the successful completion of session 2 of Day 4 of the Virtual International Summer Training Programme on Mediation, 2022, organised by ADR HOC in synergy with CiADR (Centre of International Dispute Resolution), Phoenix Dispute Resolution and International Legal Alliance.

The practical session was taken up by Mr. Anthony Gafoor on Opening Statement (drafting and delivering the opening statement). Sir conducted an informative session explaining the role and significance of caucus, the special needs that are to be looked into during mediation, the conduct and demeanour of a mediator during the proceedings along with how a mediation agreement should go about. We’re sure the participants had a lot to take away from this session. Sir made the session very interesting by enthusiastically dealing with the pertinent concepts.

The session was taken up by Mr. Anil Changaroth on ‘How to negotiate’. We would like to thank sir for conducting such an insightful and informative session explaining how to negotiate with the parties, techniques of negotiation, effective questioning and listening to International Negotiations, and Bargaining like in the UN. Sir gave an entire outlook on the practice of Negotiation, detailing the participants with the concept of Negotiations. We’re sure the participants now have a better understanding of this prominent subject with the exhaustive session taken up by sir.

The session was taken up by Ms. Kathleen Ruane Leedy on Stages of Mediation with Role Play. Ma’am conducted a practical and informative session along with other professional coaches. We are thankful to Yashika Bhartia, Yashas TR, Ximena Reguelz Brain, Zeina Sobh Luis Ore, Garv Sulatania, Federiaca Simonelli and Nohim Abeynaykee for joining us as coaches for the session. With this practical learning provided to our participants about Problem- defining, Problem-solving and Settlement stages, Opening session, Joint Sessions and Private Caucus, we’re sure the participants had a lot to take away from the session. This one of a kind exposure to Mediation for our participants has certainly introduced them with real time Mediation.

Today marked the opening of the Virtual International Summer Training Programme on Mediation 2022 organized by ADR HOC with Phoenix Dispute Solutions, UK, CiADR and International Legal Alliance as our supporting partners. This training programme is an initiative to facilitate the growth of mediation in India.

Further, we also announce the successful conclusion of session 1 of Day 1 covering topics including Introduction to Mediation as a method of dispute resolution as well as Psychology of Mediation which was taken up by our Esteemed Trainer Mr. Jawad A J.

We are much obliged to him for imparting his expertise and views on mediation and the psychology behind it. It indeed made the understanding more easier for the learners, new to this field. The speakers at the inaugural session discussed how mediation has grown its wings in recent decade. Professor Rajesh Sharma discussed the relevance of the subject of mediation and how this training can help students/professionals get in-depth understanding of mediation. Mr. Sameer Shah expressed his thoughts on the growing relevance of mediation and how it was debated why mediation should be mainstreamed and why establishing separate legislation for it was necessary. With this we kick-started the first day of the Training Program.

Mr. Hunt's expertise lies in business & consumer services, banking & finance, civil & commercial contracts, communications, construction, creative & media, employment & workplace, energy, insurance, legal services, leisure, transport & tourism, music, partnerships, personal injury & illness, product liability, professional negligence, property, shareholders, sports, wills & probate​ disputes.

He previously spent over thirteen years with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and its subsidiary IDRS Limited, where he was responsible for incorporating The City Disputes Panel which previously oversaw hundreds of mediations annually He also spent seven years at The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and two years with consumer dispute resolution bodies including Ombudsmen, where he held Executive Director roles.

Mr.Hunt is a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council and he has trained over one hundred mediators globally. He is also accredited as a mediator by CEDR and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
