Last Christmas vs This Christmas πRyan's gotten bigger, but momma's gotten smaller!
Usually, the holidays are a free-for-all for me. I enjoy all the food. And I mean ALL the food. But this year? I stuck with clean keto through all the holidays and vacations and ended the month lighter than I started.
It's not always easy, especially in the beginning. The first month is HARD! Like, really hard. If you're in the beginning week or 2 of clean keto and feeling hungry, cranky, tired, have a headache and just want to have some chips...hugs friend. I know how it is. STICK WITH IT! Power through. Your body is adjusting. You're detoxing from sugar and carbs and your body is switching over to burning fat for fuel. Soon you will be on the other side and feel better than ever. I PROMISE!
After week 3 or 4, you will feel better than you've ever felt in your life. You'll be lighter too. It gets easier. I'm on month 4 and it doesn't even occur to me to have those chips. Rooting for you!

How many of you are currently beating yourself up for gaining weight during quarantine? ππΌββοΈ Read below! ππ»
First of all, stop! π Weight gain in times of uncertainty is completely normal and you need to stop beating yourself up about it right now! Secondly, it might feel like the end of the world to you at this moment, but I promise you itβs not. Regardless if itβs up or down, your weight does not define your worth!
I let my emotions rule my food choices in this last month and that is showing on the scale (and on my Shakira's hips ππΌ). I am just as guilty as everyone else about being hard on myself about it, but I also try to remind myself that a number on the scale was never my ultimate goal. Health was and is my ultimate goal, and Iβm still healthy despite packing on a few lbs! It also helps to look at the bigger picture and how far Iβve still come from that nervous but determined Stacy on the left.
Do I want to lose the weight Iβve regained? Yep, I feel most comfortable at a lower weight and when Iβm not letting my emotions control my actions. The cool thing is I know I can do it because Iβve done it before!
If youβre in the same boat as me, please make sure you step back and look at the bigger picture. Be proud of yourself at every size and every part of your journey!

I didn't gain weight after marriage, pregnancy, illness, or anything like that. I just was and lived that since I could feed myself.
My mom tried to control it and had me on every diet imaginable since I can remember. I would hide food and eat it when no one would watch and enjoy the hell out of it too! I wish I could tell you how much changing my lifestyle has made me so much happier but the reality is I was happy my entire life (in fact, that photo on the left shows a PURE HAPPINESS tear on my face). I enjoyed my childhood, I enjoyed going to school, I enjoyed activities.
Nothing. Held. Me. Back. Especially not my weight.
If you're a mom out there going through the same thing my mom went through (myself included because I have a chunky but funky, large and in charge child), please don't do that to your kid. Help them make the best of their life, their NOW. Lead a healthy lifestyle for you and your whole family.
They will find their path through example. Be that role model. My mom did a great job at what she thought was best for me. But not having an obesity issue herself, I dont think she knew how to approach that situation.
My daughters know my main focus is health. I want them to be healthy and happy. If that means they're happy being big or small, that's fine as long as they are healthy... because big girls can be healthy too... I know it because I was one (still am at heart). Love you guys!

Iβve spent over half my life yo-yo dieting & having a truly unhealthy relationship with food.
Then June 30, 2018, I decided enough was enough. I had heard a lot of people talk about the keto way of eating & thought Iβd give it a shot.
Man oh man I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I honestly wanted to lose like 20-30 lbs. But in 9.5 months I dropped over *80* pounds & went from a size 16 to a 6. I weigh less than I did at 14 years old.
As much as I know everyone hates hearing this, itβs the truth- the mental side of this is the most important part. Keto has helped me work on my relationship with food, my confidence & my health. I never anticipated the overall changes that would happen. Itβs by far one of the best choices Iβve ever made.

2 years of hard work digging deep and working on the inside me as much as I have worked on them that the world sees. In my opinion, the inside work is MORE important than the hours that I have put in at the gym.

β¬οΈ 220 lbs different β¬οΈ On the left: 2 years ago I was overheated and struggling just to walk around an arboretum in Minnesota for a few hours with my best friend for her birthday.
I hated the way I looked but knew pictures were important to her so I didnβt protest.
To the moment I decided to save my life.
A year and a half ago I came to the harsh realization that if I didnβt drastically change my lifestyle, I wouldnβt make it to see my 30th birthday in just two short years.
I was ultimately making a life-or-death decision, and I knew I had no choice but to take it seriously. Deep down I knew I had a fight left in me, even if nobody else still did, and I was ready to prove it.

Iβm supposed to be on my way to Mexico in a few days so I figured a little swimsuit side by side was appropriate for this π€£ the first picture on the left is actually a couple of months into my journey in August and Iβd already lost 20 pounds! Iβm super bummed so many plans have been canceled but, Iβm staying hopeful that we will still be able to go at some point this year.
Trying to stay positive and think about how much better Iβll be feeling and looking thanks to keto whenever we get to go on vacation!.
