Great news for Traveler's auto insurance customers!
Personal auto insurance customers will receive a 15% credit on April and May auto premiums, expanding the company’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today announced it is giving U.S. personal auto insurance customers a 15% credit on their April and May premiums through its new Stay-at-Home Auto Premium Credit Program. The company will automatically credit customers’ accounts, providing them with prompt and much needed relief during this time. Travelers will continue to assess the program as more information comes to light about the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the driving environment and auto claims.
Progressive has followed the lead of other insurance carriers! Personal auto clients who have a policy in force as of April 30th will be credited with 20% of their April auto premium in May. The same will occur for customers with policies in force in May, with credits coming in June. These funds will be credited to the payment type on file.
If you have questions about your Progressive auto policy, please email me: [email protected].
Have a happy Easter!
Good news for my Safeco auto clients! Safeco will be issuing Personal Auto Customer Relief Refunds of 15% on two months of auto premium this April. Rumor has it that other insurance companies will soon follow this example: I'll keep you posted!

To Claim or Not To Claim…That is the question - by David Shaffer
Insurance is supposed to protect you financially in the event of a costly accident or event, right? Then why do your rates increase when you make a claim?
This article sheds some light on that Catch-22.
I would echo the author's advice:
- Try not to file a claim for anything less than $5000.
- Go with the highest possible deductible that you can afford.
- Talk to your agent before you file a claim!

Safeco® RightTrack® | How It Works
My husband and I are in the middle of something I never thought we would try: a driving telematics program.
In an attempt to save some money (yes - even insurance agents try to save money on insurance!) and to prove who is the better driver in the household, I signed us up for a 90-day program where we installed devices in our cars to track how much we drive, when we drive, and "events" like rapid acceleration and hard braking.
The upshot: we *may* save up to 30% on our Safeco auto insurance policy after the evaluation period ends.
I'll keep you posted on the results...
