Thousands of women march in Latin American cities calling for abortion rights The streets of cities across Latin America were bathed in green as tens of thousands of women marched to commemorate International Safe Abortion Day.

Since Roe was overturned one year ago, the fascist movement to strip women and LGBTQ people of their bodily autonomy has continued to grow. Late-term abortions are rare (less than 1% of all abortions) but will only get more common as Republicans continue to pass unjust abortion bans and restrictions. Some 'pro-choice' folks take issue with these procedures, but we must fight for bodily autonomy and abortion access for everyone, on demand, without apology, and without exceptions!

Please join us this Saturday, April 15 at 2 pm in Washington Square Park to protest Judge Kascmaryk's ruling to ban mifepristone (abortion pill). While it is possible that this decision will be stayed or delayed, we cannot sit back and wait to see how the powers-that-be will respond.

Biden promises to fight this ruling in the courts – but the highest court, the Supreme Court, is packed with fascists who ripped away the constitutional right to abortion last year. We must rely on ourselves! Raise your voice in opposition and take to the streets with us on Saturday!

When future generations ask what you did when the abortion pill was banned, will you tell them you stayed home and hoped for the best? Or will you say that you fought back? The recent onslaught of abortion bans and legislation against trans and gender non-conforming people should be seen as part of the same violent, reactionary, fascist movement. Bodily autonomy is our most basic right, and we cannot accept any attempt to limit it!

There’s a reason we chant “pro life is a lie, they don’t care if women die”. Not only are Republicans lawmakers content to see women die from unwanted pregnancies (whether by su***de, homicide by an abusive partner, or medical complications), some of them are actively advocating for women who get an abortion to murdered by the state.

Biden spoke for over an hour last night, so why was the fact that 13 states have outlawed a necessary medical procedure barely mentioned? Abortion rights advocates march in Manhattan to mark 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade Sunday marks 50 years since Roe v. Wade was first passed, but it’s the first anniversary since the landmark abortion decision was overturned by the Supreme Court.
