About Us
Hi Iām McKenzie proprietor of Little Ray of Sunshine Bakery. Iām just a mom whipping up baked goods primarily for friends and family on a āPay what you can basisā. I will post when I have items available, can do no contact delivery in the Iowa City area. Enjoy your goods then PayPal or Venmo what you think itās worth. Canāt afford to pay anything, no problem! I know baked goods can give us all a pick me up during these tough times. Consider leaving a review of your experience. Some things I like to make most are Cinnamon Rolls, Banana Bread, Scones, Muffins and Cupcakes. I am not an artist so no fancy cakes or cookies, but I make some pretty great basic ones.
A little background on myself.... Iāve always loved to cook, in 2008 I got a certificate in Culinary Arts and in 2009 a degree in Nutrition and Dietary Science. My ultimate goal has always been to teach people to cook healthy meals however I worked as a caterer and personal chef and got burnt out pretty quickly. I didnāt take up baking until we made a move and I was no longer working full time. I previously sold at farmerās markets in both Dixon, IL and Riverside, IA. Now I am once again working full time however thanks to the current state of affairs I had to find something to occupy my time at home. I love to bake, but I donāt like eating it all by myself! Thatās why Little Ray of Sunshine will provide others little pick me ups to get us through these tough times. I hope to eventually get back into farmerās markets as well.
