Here is ✨ Matt Geli ✨ to share his experience as a student-researcher 📚 in the arts and humanities.


About the artist:
➡️ Matt Dylan Geli is a multi-awarded and internationally recognized competitor and student-researcher. He is an impactful writer who previously wrote under the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino and ASEAN Foundation and a leading Filipino student-researcher who previously partnered with several government agencies and presented in numerous exhibits and research conferences nationally and internationally. He has served in various capacities in organizations and events most recently as the immediate past president of the DLSU SHS HUMSS Society. Mr. Geli is currently a double degree full scholarship recipient at De La Salle University taking up BS Applied Corporate Management and BA Organizational Communication.

If he can do it, so can we! 💪 It may sound scary, but chasing your dreams is always worth it 😌💭. Together, let us explore the arts and humanities 🌟.

Here are ✨ Matty Juniosa and Zid Yarcia ✨ to share their journeys as artists 🎶 and give some advice 🎤 to those who are interested in pursuing the field.

About the artists:
➡️ Matty Juniosa is a singer/songwriter in the Soul, Neo-Soul, RNB, Jazz and Musical Theater genre. Idol Philippines 2019 alum who finished top 12, currently an ABSCBN talent and a Star Music, Star Pop PH artist, and a member of iDolls with Lucas Garcia and Enzo Almario. With training background in Musical Theater under PETA and ATEG and a graduate of DLSU-M International Studies in American Studies, an alum of De La Salle Innersoul, and currently a member of Soulstice PH.

➡️ Zadkiel John "Zid" Yarcia is currently a student of the University of the Philippines- Diliman taking up a Bachelors degree in Music, majoring in Voice. He is also an alumnus of the internationally acclaimed high school choir, Boscorale from Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati.

With his love for singing, he competed in the 2018 World Championships of Performing Arts in California, U.S.A, and brought home medals in the Opera and Broadway categories. In that same year, he also competed in the National Music Competition for Young Artists, Junior Voice category, and was the only male contestant who reached the national finals. In 2021, he was recognized as an "Outstanding Young Cultural Musician" in the 4th Asia Pacific Luminare Awards.

Zid performed in the Philippine Festival of Youth Action 2020 and Archipelago Rising 2020 (International Youth Day 2020). He was also featured in the ASEAN Youth Advocates Network podcast series "ASEAN Youth on the Move", on the episode "ASEAN Youth on Music". Currently, he is the president of the UP Voice and Music Theater Guild, and has been helping various fundraising organizations during this pandemic through his music.

Alya is a Manila-based multi-instrumentalist. Despite her young age, her versatility in different genres and her years of experience has proven her potential in the art of music; despite this, she is still finding a team that would accompany her in her long, long road to success in the music industry.

Los is a musician, a bassist and the music producer for his band called Project 5. He is currently studying in San Beda University Manila - Senior High School, and he also produces his own music to make covers and originals, where he plays bass, guitar (acoustic, electric, classical), synths, and piano. His music is inspired by many OPM and International talents.

Sophia Vivienne Canzana is an 18-year-old aspiring architect currently studying at Mapúa University. Growing up, a huge influence in Sophia's life was the arts. From singing, dancing, painting, and even acting,it played a massive part in who she is today.

About the artists:
➡️ Rance Tamayo is currently a grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) student in De La Salle University - Integrated School, Manila. He was the presiding chief adjudicator for Colegio de San Juan de Letran's Circle of Debate (2019-2020) and currently serves as the opinion editor for DLSU's La Nouvelle. His philosophy interests/works focus on the continental tradition, specifically the works of Jacques Lacan, Jacques Derrida, and the Posthumanist tradition.

➡️ Princess Murielle P. Catacutan is a Grade 12 student taking up the HUMSS strand at De La Salle University. She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of one of the best high school publications in the country, Pana Verde. She finished Junior High School at Manuel G. Araullo High School with distinction and moved into the university as a scholar. Prior to Senior High, she enjoyed being a host in numerous activities presented by her previous school. In her Grade 11 Year, she served as a broadcaster of the said publication before bagging her current position. Recently, she served as a panelist for DLSU SHS COMSELEC’s Miting De Avance. In her spare time, she enjoys composing literary pieces. Her poetry “Isang Kahig, Isang Tuka” was published by the DLSU SHS Student Counci’s Sibol ng Pag-asa Zine earlier this year.

➡️ Former Suprema of DLSU SHS History Club, Francie Kaye is an Anthropology Major at the University of the Philippines - Diliman. She advocates for feminism and dreams to contribute to cultural studies and Filipino identity. Due to be published in Bansayan 2021 and Sibol Magazine, her poems revolve around erotic nuances and liminality, hopeful of questioning cultural barriers and starting eccentric conversations through the different forms and voices in playful poetry.

About the artists:
➡️ Max Guanzon is a bedroom musician from Manila. He juggles producing music and creating Youtube content while studying BS Business Administration in UP Diliman and being part of various organizations. He served as the President of the DLSU-IS Orchestra and self-produced his debut EP, Gemini Mercury. He aims to create more music that will tell his story and others will enjoy.

➡️ Amiel Sol is an incoming senior in college and he is a songwriter who started releasing songs last March 2020. He writes mellow songs that often revolve around love. His third single, “A Day With You” became #21 in Philippines Viral 50 on Spotify. His songs have over 1.68 million streams on Spotify alone. He has guested in stations such as Wish 107.5 and Myx, and in shows such as Showtime. He is currently signed under Ditto Music, a distribution label company.
