Greetings to fellow friends and families of Neil Igni!

As we all know, the recent news of Neil Igni’s demise has been very devastating to us all. He was a friend, a brother, a son, a leader and a source of joy to all. He was the laughter and motivation that filled our hearts and without hesitation, he always stood up for the people he cared for. Let us all commemorate his loving presence as we serve as his light this time.

In line with this, we will be holding a free, two-day online concert titled “HarmoNeil: Beats for Neil” on November 26-27, 4:00-7:30 pm. We are hoping for your support as we bid our dear friend Neil a farewell he deserves—a music played by heart.

Being exposed to many platforms of music, he has pursued to become a multi-instrumentalist, a vocalist, and even a gig producer. Now, he is to sing his heart out to celebrate the life of his departed student, Neil Igni.

8 Disc Magic is an independent five-piece band from Marikina City. They enjoy exploring various genres but pull most of their influences from artists of the 80s and modern pop music. From a small group of friends, they started honing their musical skills early on and eventually found each other to form the band.

In times where love has now been mostly associated with romance, this song focused its theme on a parent’s perspective of an unconditional love.

“We wanted to make a song na ipapakita yung unconditional love na ‘di lamang expressed as love na pang mag-jowa or nagliligawan. We wanted to showcase all forms of love in this song. Love that sees no boundaries; an all-out love that is offered freely without expecting for something in return, and what more could be a greater example for a love like this ‘diba, than a parental love. Lalo na while writing the lyrics iniisip namin kung ano kaya feeling ng magulang, sa unang beses niyang masilayan yung magiging kauna-unahang magiging anak niya - moment na sobrang surreal and we wanted to encapsulate that specific moment into this song. Kumbaga a parent's message to their first born in that very moment ng una nilang pagkikita. Pero syempre, open for all interpretations yung message ng song, pwedeng i-dedicate sa kahit kaninong mahal mo.”

Hi guys, it's Andree. I've been writing random short songs for years now along with Steven and Angel, I never really got to finish any of them, but this one had many reasons that made me want to finish it. For the band, it's not just a love song, but a song of promise to anyone that's going through a lot and the fact that we're there for people dear to us to help them get through any hardships that they are going through.
