Tada! Here’s the final product of yesterday's reel. Elk ivory inlay with a beautiful Turquoise stone bezel set on top!
For some reason, I made this a size 8, which is not my size 🙄 so it is now listed on my website. This is my first inlay with a bezel set stone, so some flaws exist. I have discounted the price to reflect that, and I’m happy to further discuss those with interested buyers.

Excuse my absence on here lately. Summer has been jam-packed! So far, I have:
* Moved to a new state
* Accepted an offer with a new university and 4-H system
* Taken lots of vacations (I never, ever do this, especially in the summer, but everyone has managed without me 👏)

My first turquoise purchase was a bar necklace. I bought that necklace with the first paycheck I received right out of college. Who would have guessed that two years later I would be making the very pieces that I drooled over!

My client designed this unique piece, and I fabricated it for her. It’s extremely helpful to have a clear vision of what you want before you order a custom. We can always tweak things along the way, but knowing what you want will allow me to create a piece you will love!

#1 Don’t try to catch the open bottle of CA glue when it falls. You will glue your hands together.

I probably wasted over 1/4 sheet of silver making these three times over. However, failure is part of learning, and you can’t succeed without failure. I listened to a maker podcast last night by .schwarz and that talked about not holding material in such high regard. People are afraid to try because they don’t want to waste the gold or the silver. It’s just material. Expensive material, yes, but just material nonetheless.

I always say turquoise goes with anything, but this turquoise and YELLOW Rosarita….wooooooow 🤩
