Our new baby is home! .its.anna

Back in February this little angel princess of ours, Daisy Mae, went over the rainbow bridge.😢 She was truly the world to our family for almost 15 years, and it has taken until now for me to be able to post about it without pouring tears onto my keyboard. Now, for almost 6 months, we have taken in the eerie feeling of quietness and we have learned to smile from our memories through our tears. We know she will forever remain in our hearts but that our hearts are now ready to share more love once again. Our new fur baby (my new co-producer 😊), arrives one week from today and I can’t wait to share her with you in some up coming posts. ❤️

It was Christmas in July with this talented crew last week in Nashville! We wrote such a fun, upbeat holiday bopper… I can’t wait to hear how it turns out. It’s not everyday I get to just sit back and enjoy writing without being the producer or even vocalist too. But.. I can't even begin to explain how soul fulfilling this past weekend was in Chicago at the event. The talent of songwriters, performers & producers was through the roof. The panelists of Music Supervisors & Ad Execs was astounding. AND.. to top it offffffff.... I was invited to be a guest panelist on the FEMALE PRODUCER PANEL!!! I mean, the words honored and gracious don't nearly match the amount of gratitude I feel to have been a part of it. Thank you .music & for another blessing in the memory books. You ladies inspire us all!! ❤️ And to my peers.... I miss you all already!!!!! 💕💕💕

This week I was truly honored to be part of something incredibly special. I was asked to produce 2 songs for a songwriting retreat in LA for an album that is already labeled & repped. Not that having my productions on the album wasn’t enough to tickle me pink, but I was also part of the songwriting team for those 2 songs. I got to work with my dear mentors/ friends & John Clinebell from 2Indie and several of the most incredible people who’ve taken this journey with me. I got to work & hang out in my dear friend Rebecca Trujillo Vest's gorgeous studio in Venice Beach, meet one of my agents, Elaine Ryan from Unicorn Sync and work with the most talented (AND SUPER FUN engineer John X Volaitis who has worked on platinum records for artists such as The Rolling Stones, Pink, Ice Cube, Bonnie Raitt and many others. I was so involved in the process that I barely took a single pic… but luckily others did that I swiped. Haha…. 🤣🤣 I also got precious time with amazing friends, co-writers and another one of my collaborators/ agents outside of the studio. ❤️

It was the height of the pandemic. The world was in absolute chaos. Vaccines had not been created yet and as a mom considered high risk due to me having auto-immune Lupus (like Selena Gomez has)… I was afraid that if I walked out of my house, my kids were not going to have a mom. Then, Lupus medication (hydroxychloroquine) became hard to get since it was thought to cure Covid, politics went haywire, and all I could do was sit on the couch, watch the news and cry from anxiety.

But, I learned of an immersive program coaching musicians on how to best get their music licensed for Sync into TV/film. I was hesitant to spend the money, but my family pushed for me to do it (so that I would actually stop watching the news.. hahah)... AND it became one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

I began that program in music licensing lead by John Clinebell and Sonnet Simmons Matthews in 2020. To say my world changed dramatically would be an understatement. They run a company now called, 2Indie and they offer so many courses and resources to songwriters, producers and artists that I’m proud to still be learning from them and even working by their side as an ambassador.

As if that hasn’t been enough… they just spotlighted me in this article and I’m beyond grateful and truly honored. Whenever I feel like I haven’t come far enough yet in this biz… I’ll read this article again & again to remind myself. I’m still all about positive happy pop music, but, I couldn’t help myself with this! 🤭🤣 One really fun song brief last fall lead me to create a full album’s worth of love songs, some happy & some sad 😳 but most slow burn big cinematic ballads. Come spring/summer, I will start to release them individually under the album titled, “The Love Project.” ❤️ And two of these songs (so far) are with my dearest friend/ incredible songwriting partner Moe 💞💞💞 Anddddd I actually got my corporate world hubby to play the bass on one of the songs! How cool is that?!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m sitting staring at the computer but just overwhelmed with where to start on things today. Uugh… Anyone else ever feel this way. I feel like my coffee was broken this morning. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣
