We got some stuff cutout this week! New custom skid plate for the Yellow LS TJ we built for Ross, some ford 9” upper control arm brackets and a set of Shock Towers for Kevin.

Had some issues with the A Fab JK at Chile Challenge 2023 and came home to tear it apart the next day to rebuild. I decided to cut out every single thing the previous owner did because the welds weren’t even good for a go cart 🙃

Here’s a list of things we did. All new Artec trusses and axle brackets front and rear, Barnes crossmember with link mounts and a Barnes skid plate system, rock krawler rear frame side brackets, all new control arms and heims, new exhaust behind the tcase, outboarded rear shocks, new shocks all the way around, new front and rear trackbars that are longer, and new steering with significantly more angle. We also did a JL grille conversion and Motobilt tomahawk front bumper.

I have a decent opportunity for someone with a JL looking for tons and 40s 😎

I have a set of tons available with beadlocks and 40” Nittos, 5 tires, 5 wheels.

Tons are as follows, 4.88s, grizzly locker front and rear, RCV front shafts, trussed, aluminum steering, with only 4500 miles on the build.

We also have an Atlas than can be done for a little more. We need cash and stock parts in return, labor is all included in the sale price. These are the axles and wheels/tires available. Message me with questions, we really need this trade to be done with another rubicon so we can keep the functions intact with this Jeep while partially returning it to stock.

We got some 14” ORI’s installed on the front of this JKU and also got beadlocks swapped on.

The A Fab jk finally got the makeover it deserved to be built correct and actually hold up. We pulled axles out and cut out every bracket that was welded by someone else, every frame bracket, every axle bracket, replaced everything including trusses, and built new links. We gained 3” of ground clearance up front, and almost 5” total in the rear! This thing should be going back together next week. We also swapped to a JL style grille and a MotoBilt Tomahawk bumper. It’s finally starting to look like a Jeep again.

I got the opportunity to basically build a rig how I’d want to with very little stipulations. We kept the Currie High pinion 9” axles front and rear that already had ARB lockers, 5.3 LS, and Atlas case. We added a decent amount of wheelbase with it finalizing at 108”, with almost 5” of front stretch while keeping a gearbox and all the possible uptravel. We used 12” Fox 2.0 Resi Coilovers all around strapped and bumped to keep them happy. It got 37” Cooper STT Pros that are wrapped around Vision Ojos. 4 link rear with triangulated uppers, 3 link front with passenger side upper. Adams rear driveshaft with the original front I heavily modified. TIG welded links and a TIG welded cage we designed and built utilizing Motobilt Brackets and Cargo Rack. It’s also wrapped in Motobilt parts, Rear quarters, Sliders, Front High lines with inner fenders, Shock towers, Rear Backhalf, front bumper, license plate holder and Fuel Cell.

We made some time to test Jess’ Jeep after the one tons and coilovers. We put 12” Fox 2.0s in the front and 14” Fox 2.0s in the rear along with an 05+ SD60 and 14 bolt combo, 5.38 gears and ARB’s. Everything worked as it should.

Here are the after pictures!! We stripped this thing down to absolutely nothing. Built an entire new electronics harness, added in a marine audio systems, Rugged Radios intercom and radio, PRP Seats and Steering Wheel, and a Genright rack, dash, center console along with a custom cage we did in house.

We’ve come across a good deal for a set of axles ready to go into an XJ! We have a 8 lug 44 front, d60 full float rear, and a Clayton 3 link all available. We can also help with install! Axles have 5.13s and locked front and rear with a rear disc brake conversion . And to make the deal even better we have a TJ 4:1 Rubi case to go with the axles. $3500 OBO.

The YJ we built previously came back to upgrade the 35 spline RCV’s to some 40 spline Big bell RCV’s with direct drive stubs 😎

Found an issue while doing a simple oil change on an LS, replaced the stock press in needle bearings with some BTR Trunnion upgrades and it’s running better than ever.

The 14s were a little much so we swapped the front to 12s and we’ll put the 14s in the rear asap.

So, a little update here at A Fab on the shop rig. We decided to sell the Xj and bought a stretched one ton JK that was already built for a good price. Theres a lot of reasons the price was so good 😅

First, it started on Patagonias and simulated beadlocks, so after destroying a pat on the first trail I ordered 40” Cooper STT pros and vision Ojos beadlocks.

Second, broke the trackbar bracket because it was welded with a RC car battery so we pulled both axles out, ground down every weld, and rewelded everything.

Third, I broke a stock 1480 u joint that ended up taking an ear off a shaft so I ordered some stock replacement 1550 shafts from Summit Racing.

Fourth, bushings are destroyed for the upper control arms so I ordered aluminum links from RPM Steering, and luckily already had heims in stock so that saved me some money.

Also added some hydro bumps because the rear never had bumpstops and I’m not a fan of chewing up the tires.

Future plans, 2.5” coils for the rear so it sits level, aluminum lowers with 1.25” and replace the frame side brackets. Not sure what’s next

Over the last few weeks we’ve gotten a lot of progress done on a 2 door JK 😎

Rock Krawler Suspension 8” stretch, custom cut TNT armor, and some Outta Hand Fabrication, LLC. 8” stretch sliders. Thanks to Prodigy powder coating for all our powdercoating needs on the Rear bumper, armor, sliders, and coil springs. Along with the Bump from 37s to 40s. FIrst picture is the before, then some progress to an almost finished product

Let’s do a recap on this build since it will be temporarily going home until the transfercase finally arrives to get finished. It has a 4.0, AW4 swap with RADesigns Products LLC VX shifter, and a Midnight Metalworks billet d300 eventually.

05+ 60 and 14 bolt, RCV’s, 5.38s, full spools, 42” sticky treps, KMC beadlocks.

MotoBilt: parts include, fuel cell, corner armor, sliders, front half, back half, 4 link F&R frame setup, diff covers, and seat sliders for the PRP Seats.

ARTEC Industries: for the trusses, full hydro mount, steering arms.

PRP Seats: front reclining seats, rear bench, harness’s, and steering wheel

All welding, tube work, and building has been done in house to include custom cage, custom rear tube work to protect the fuel cell, corners, and the cooler mount off the back.

If anyone is looking for a JK front axle I have a nice G2 Core 44 with ARB air locker, 4.88 gears, and 35 spline chromolly shafts! I can help with a swap aswell!

Factory harness was pretty well butchered, so I rebuilt the entire light harness for headlights, front fog lights, tail, brake, and reverse lights along with the rear amber thatll flash
