Hope to see you there :)
We are taking the next 21 days (starting tomorrow) to fast and pray for the nations of Africa.
The driving Scripture for this fast is Daniel 10, which is a great reminder that God is ready with a response to our prayers. We are walking into this fast in faith, believing that God is already listening to us. Now we just need to make room for His word. We just need to position ourselves to receive it. Whether you're able to do all 21 days or just a few days, whether you do a Daniel fast or a regular fast, join us in making room for God's Word.
Let us know you'll be joining us using this link: https://forms.gle/JuwzYyPPPnCjYRXz9
You won't be alone. Every Monday we will have prayer sessions on zoom to pray together and share on what God is speaking to us.✨

AFRICA YOUTH PRAYER MOVEMENT : DEVOTIONAL
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35, Read John 6)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
Jesus is the bread of God, Who came down to give life to the world. In John 6, the people were asking for a miraculous sign that would cause them to believe that He is the Son of God. They gave the example of manna, God’s provision in the wilderness. Jesus is the manifestation of the provision of God for His people. The manna sent from heaven was a shadow of Jesus Christ, Who would later come.
There is a promise in the beatitudes. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6) Just like John 6, a hunger and thirst is mentioned once more, but this time, in relation to righteousness. Jesus is our righteousness. (1 Corinthians 1:30)
In both these verses, hunger and thirst is satisfied. This hunger and thirst is not for physical food and drink. It is a spiritual hunger and thirst. Jesus makes this clear when speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-26)
For all who are hungry and thirsty, there is a promise of satisfaction. What does this hunger and thirst look like? Areas in your life that you need healing, restoration, freedom. When you come to the understanding that Jesus is the only one who will satisfy these needs, as well as liberate you from sin and death, then you will find satisfaction.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
*Prayer Points*
1. The 7 mountains of societal influence (Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Business)
2. That the Word of God would be given its place in our lives. The highest authority and guide for our faith and practice. James 1:21
3. Prayer against depression, it has plagued many young people out here. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
4. Pray upon the establishment of the church to be rooted strongly in the word of God //Lord let your light shine upon your church Ps. 4:6
Devotional
I have dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts in my own life. I am aware of how depression can affect every area of your life. It is destructive and painful, but there is hope. In the course of that time in my life, prayer by others and in my own life is what brought me out of it and kept me in the healing process afterwards.
Jesus is so aware of what we go through. It isn't anything new to Him. It is for this reason, that He died on the cross, that He suffered all He did. It was all so that we could live a life liberated from these afflictions. Our situation is not impossible to God! *(Luke 18:27)*
*Isaiah 53:4-5*
_Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him, and_ _afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our_ _iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed._
Everything Jesus endured was so that we could be set free from every result of sin and work of Satan in our lives. Liberty for the captives was on His heart. *(Isaiah 61:1)* I believe that through prayer and application of the Word of God, we will be able to see a change in these issues that are so rampant in Africa.
In the name of Jesus, we _“proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners!”_*(Isaiah 61:1)*
Isaiah 40:3-5
A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
the way for the LORD;
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
This passage prophesied of John the Baptist, who prepared the way, in the wilderness, for the coming of Jesus Christ. I ask can we be the generation of John the Baptists calling out, “Prepare the way for the Lord” in the wilderness of prayer and fasting? Can we be the generation to go ahead, paving the way in our homes, in our communities, in our cities, in our nations for the glory of the Lord to be revealed? The necessity of prayer in our generation cannot be ignored. The importance of prayer preceding any move of the Holy Spirit in a generation cannot be discounted. Let us be those willing to lay down our lives, our time, our wants, our will to see the glory of the Lord revealed!
I believe that this is the time for a generation of those willing to “weep between the portico and the altar…Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” (Joel 2:17)
