I know the rumors have been flying, so I need to make the announcement I've been dreading. Last week I delivered a huge order of all of your favorite LillaSyster Soap Co. treats (think Christmas level quantities) to Persnickety Too in Texarkana! However, this was one of my last deliveries. I am closing LillaSyster very soon.

It's been a wonderful wild ride! Over 7 years ago, a hobby that I took up in a time of grief quickly became a business I never intended to start. It was a business which grew so rapidly that I needed a storefront to keep up with my orders. Having my store was the absolute best part of those 7 years and my customers and my employees were the best part of having my store.

When life brought us to Austin almost 18 mos. ago, and I moved production back into my home, soap making became a chore instead of a joy. I wholeheartedly believe in doing what you love, and while I absolutely still love the finished product, I do not love having to produce hundreds of lbs of soap, fizzies, sugar scrubs, etc., in a kitchen about the same size as my cash wrap was in my store.

I've put off making this announcement because it makes it real. It wasn't an easy decision to make. I know so many of you will be disappointed, but if I can offer a tiny glimmer of hope, I'll say that this might not be a forever decision. If I do make a comeback in any form, I'll post it on this page first! Until then, I want to thank you all for your many years of loyalty.

Yes! LillaSyster Soap Co. is back! Took awhile to get the name changed from Once Upon a Bath. I loved the idea of Once Upon a Bath, but LillaSyster is who I am. I am eyeball deep in getting things ready for the Mistletoe Fair next week. So far I've made lip balm, bath fizzies, soap, shower gel, body spray, and I'm working on sugar scrub right now.
