Spent yesterday sanding down this bed, having previously scrubbed it with a bleach solution as it had been left in a very sorry and mouldy system by a tenant! After several hours of sanding and then a couple of coats of white furniture finishing wax, it has now been to it’s former rustic glory!

Got slightly sidetracked today! Have had this old mirror stand for a bit and have been wondering what to do with it, but having lit my first candles of autumn last night, today I felt inspired. I have two sets of each, so that’s two pairs of candlesticks, 4 k***s and 2 bits of wood for the ‘useful bits of wood’ box! Now I must get back to what I was supposed to be doing!

I’m testing out a new dye today - I can’t wait to see how it looks when it dries. I’m hoping it will be perfect to create the look that I’m planning for the small that I’m working on. Let’s see what it looks like in the morning!

Photos from Restor8iv's post 06/10/2021

When I’m working on bigger pieces of furniture I like to have a few smaller things on the go too. Wooden bowls are a particular favourite of mine and but this one had definitely seen better days! Now it has a new lease of life!
