I never knew the inside of a round zucchini was so pretty! 🥰
Nature never fails to surprise and delight us with its wonders. Last week, I noticed, while making dinner, what a beautiful lines the inside of this round zucchini has. Who would have thought veggies could be so stunning?

Oh I feel like a middle aged woman but man, I love our garden this year!
We made our custom raised beds earlier this year, sowed our seeds indoors from the beginning of March and re-planned our entire, little surburbian garden.
Now we're finally able to harvest!
Until now we harvested some beetroots, zucchinni and strawberries. Tonight we will try our homegrown kohlrabi (or turnip cabbage?) for the first time.
It gives so much energy to grown your own food.
Luckily Tom and the boys enjoy being in the garden as well so we can call it a family effort!
'Nah, I don't need to tag my seedlings.. it will be fine I'll remember what is what..'
Or maybe I won't. This is the first time I'm starting my vegetable garden completely from scratch.
I started some seeds indoor in March. Then I wanted to plant more and started some seeds in the greenhouse in April.
But then I wanted to plant even more and started some more seeds. Oh and yes inbetween these I also started the seeds of some calendula and camilla.
I only wrote down the seedlings from March and these are already in the ground, so now I have absolutely no clue on what we have left.
Let's call it a rookie mistake I guess!
Well if anyone knows which one are the zuccini's, cucumbers, kohlrabi's, beans or squash than please let me know!
Last week I tried a new recipe and instantly loved it! Homemade creamy mushroom soup. Never tought it would be so easy to make such a delicious soup. And the best thing is, you can twist and tweak it all you want to make it even more delicious!
We love spicy food so I added a Madame Jeanette. That maybe was a little too much but we still loved it!
Check out my blogpost for the recipe.
Today I had some spare time so I decided to do a little meal prep.
We had some leftover vegetables which I roasted in the oven together with some tomatoes, so next week we'll eat homemade pizza, pasta or lasagna!
We were also out of our homemade granola so I made a new batch for the upcoming weeks.
Check my blog livelifefromscratch.com for the recipes!
Tonight I'm going to make my first bone broth.
I think I'm going to use the bones of two previously cooked chickens and add some garlic, onion, carrot and pepper corns.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks?
Last week we had such a lovely winter day. So we went on a walk with our little family. Recently I got a new camera for my birthday so we took that with us as well. Still figuring out how to get the best pictures haha. Anyway, we came across some beautiful scenery. How I wish our view from our home would be anything like this. Maybe one day.
It still surprises me how easy it is to make some decent homemade food from scratch. Normally I would buy tortilla wraps in the grocery store, because you know, it's so easy and saves a lot of time (I thought).
Now that I'm teaching myself to cook from scratch, I can't believe how easy most components are to cook at home with your own (organic) ingredients. Likefor instance a tortilla wrap. It only needs flour, water, oil and salt.
A store bought tortilla wrap often has additives like sugar, a stabilizer like glycerol, some kind of fiber and a preservative. If you want to start with eating healthier, the homemeade tortilla wrap is a good starting point.
You can make them when you have a spare half an hour and store them in the fridge for a week.
In what dish do you like to use tortilla wraps? This week I made wraps for lunch with some cream cheese, rucola, shallot cucumber and tomato.
Check out the recipe for this homemade tortilla wraps on my blogpost. Link in bio.
I just posted my homemade bread recipe with rye and spelt flour, honey and dry yeast. Check my blog livelifefromscratch.com and let me know if you love it as much as I do! # speltflour
This morning I was out of my Lovely Homemade Granola. Luckily I baked a bread yesterday. It was an experimental bread for a new recipe on my blog LiveLifefromScratch.com. But its a delicious one. You'll need to be a little patient but the recipe is underway! A little hint, I used some Rye flour and honey. Hmmmm.. I'll try to post it tomorrow so stay tuned!

Yesterday evening Tom was craving some sweets (of course precisely after all the stores were closed) and unfortunately we didn't have any at home. Luckily he has a great wife (ahem) who knows how to make some easy homemade cupcakes in under 30 minutes! Back in the day when I was in high school I learned this recipe. This is really a fool proof recipe and has never let me down....
