Meet our CMO! Khushi Shah (ā€˜21) is a current high school student at Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, CA. She learned about Project Tasveer through our CEO, and instantly fell in love with the whole concept. Khushi has always had a passion for helping others and after listening to Naomiā€™s stories about her experiences in Dharamshala, she instantly knew that she wanted to be a part of this project and cause to help those children receive a better education, meals, healthcare, and overall the best lifestyle possible. She has a passion for writing and enjoys having the opportunity to articulate Naomiā€™s experiences into blogs for others to read, take in, and enjoy. Khushi is looking forward to her journey with Project Tasveer and excited to see where it will go!

All profits from the sales of our products are currently going towards buying sewing machines for underprivileged women who, with the help of Sambhali Trust, use it to start their own entrepreneurial ventures and gain financial autonomy!! We decided to visit one of the centers our non-profit supports in Jodhpur, India and interview Saroj, a women who was able to escape poverty and oppression with the help of a single sewing machine. Please watch to see the impact one sewing machine can have on a womenā€™s life and support Project Tasveerā€™s efforts to empower women by purchasing a product!

ONE SEWING MACHINE CAN GRANT A WOMEN ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE FOR LIFE! We are partnering with the Sambhali Trust, an NGO that provides vocational training in sewing and embroidery for underprivileged women in India, many of whom are attempting to escape oppression, abuse, and poverty. Through visiting one of their centers in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, our CEO, Naomi Deokule, has first hand witnessed the immense impact a sewing machine has on these womenā€™s lives! Therefore, all proceeds from items sold by Project Tasveer will be put towards providing these women with sewing machines, empowering them toĀ Ā create their own entrepreneurial ventures and gain financial autonomy! The Color Your Dreams Art and Mindfulness Virtual Camp was a success! We created this camp in collaboration with as an effort to encourage artistic expression, connecting with peers around the world, and empowerment through spiritual exercises in young children who are feeling uninspired, stressed, and lonely during this global pandemic. We focused in on a different theme each day (self love, giving, etc) and had an affirmation to go along with it. Then we moved into an empowering art activity, and ended each session with a self-esteem building empowerment exercise! During Week 1, we were able to work with kids from all over world and in Week 2, with the generous donations from the Week 1 families, we were able to provide art kits and simulate the same Color Your Dreams experience for refugee children living in San Diego. Check out the link in our bio to read more about our inspiring initiative!

As an effort to use art to create change locally, we are launching COLOR YOUR DREAMS, a virtual art and mindfulness summer camp in collaboration with !!

Amidst the pandemic, we noticed a dire need for creative outlets for young kids, as many are finding themselves uninspired and lost while being cooped up at home. We decided to develop this camp as an opportunity for kids to explore their artistic sides, become empowered through spiritual exercises meant to build confidence and self-esteem, connect with fellow peers, and overall escape the stress caused by the pandemic.

COLOR YOUR DREAMS VIRTUAL ART AND MINDFULNESS CAMP will be held from August 3-7 via virtual Zoom sessions lasting from 9-10am PST. We will begin each session with a 5 minute mindfulness exercise, and end each session with positive affirmations. The bulk of each session will consist of a fun and insightful art activity which encourages healthy self-expression and emotional well-being. The camp is free of charge and is open to any kids from the ages of 7-12.

We will be hosting an info session on Sunday, July 26 from 9-10am PST to talk more about what we have planned and answer any questions you may have. Hope to see you all there!
