-> There are two systems of psychology:

The first: systems that study man as he is, or as he supposes or imagines to be - Modern "scientific" psychology

Second: systems that do not study man from the point of view of what he is, but from the point of view of what he could become, that is, from the point of view of his possible EVOLUTION - here we speak from this point of view! When viewed from the standpoint of man's possible evolution, we can only look at man's development of consciousness.

-> What is consciousness?

In most cases, the word "consciousness" is used in the ordinary language as a synonym for the word "intelligence", in the sense of mental activity. Consciousness is actually a special kind of "awareness" in man, which is not dependent on mental activity - first of all, awareness of himself, awareness of who he is, where he is, and then awareness of what he knows, what he does not know and so on further. Only one can know whether or not he is aware at any given moment!

The fact is that consciousness in man, whatever that means, never remains in the same state. It is either here or not. Moments of highest conscious moments make memories! Other times we just don't remember. This, more than anything, creates in man the illusion of constant consciousness. So we can ask ourselves, to what percentage do we remember our lives? 5%, 10%, 15%? According to this, we can conclude that man is, in itself, only an automaton with a certain stock of memories of past experiences and a certain amount of reserve energy.

These conclusions only lead us to one thing, which is that we are almost entirely mechanical! Because, consciousness is our concentration, freeing the mind from automatic thoughts, feeling the environment and the body in the moment, now. And one only senses a body when it is warm, cold or in hurt!

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS - thoughts that go through our mind all the time and are related to the past and the future, and we are not controlling them. If we cannot control something, it means that we are not aware. Automatic thoughts appear from when we wake up, until we fall asleep and then we are dreaming! When we talk about control, we can say that we are conscious (present) only when we are controlling ourselves, we are aware of the environment, and our thoughts. In all other moments we are mechanical!

MECHANICAL represents man's mechanical states as opposites to the conscious. It represents the philosophy and psychology of all of humanity and its activities.

As the opening lyrics to the Fluorescent black album say:

Actions are divided into

Conscious and mechanical

Conscious ones a few people meet

Which makes us machines!

Man has invented many machines throughout his history and knows that sometimes, if it is a complex machine, it takes years of careful study before one can use and control it. He does not, however, apply this knowledge to himself, though he, himself is a much more complex machine than any he invented. But first of all, he doesn't really realize he's a machine!
