My painting, “Blue of Sharon,” sold today at The Frying Pan Gallery in Wellfleet. At 40x40” it had to wait all summer to find the right buyer.
I want to thank Hannah at the gallery for always being so enthusiastic about my work and sending this one home with a young man who apparently fell in love with it. It will make me happy to think of it in his home and in his life. 🩵

What a great day! We saw our friend, Lorrie La Pointe’s gorgeous show at AMZehnder gallery in Wellfleet and bought a small painting! We first saw Lorrie’s work at Preservation Hall in Wellfleet and loved her powerful, roiling seas. I got to meet the delightful gallery owner, Ann-Marie Zehnder, and learned that she first showed her own work at the Frying Pan Gallery, just like me! She had an outdoor pop-up of Pete Hocking’s gorgeous, lush paintings. We finished the day with good friends devouring Wellfleet oysters shucked by my honey. A perfect day!! 🩵
❤️
We had the best time at the Provincetown Carnival yesterday. The theme this year was Renaissance and Revolution, so our handmade hydrangea wigs fit right in! Happy Carnival!
Taking a break while the weather is this spectacular.
Sometimes you just get lucky. In the summer of 2022 I met Sarah Swain at the Frying Pan Gallery in Wellfleet. We became fast friends and she took nine of my paintings on the spot.
What I didn’t know was that Sarah is an Outer Cape legend; gallery owner, advocate for Women’s health services, song writer and leader of “Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys,” her kick-ass rockabilly band. She’s even the subject of a documentary. She’s been an enthusiastic supporter of my work and an incredibly solid person to work with. Every time I walk into The Pan, I just can’t believe that I’m a part of this special place! 🩵
Last night the last of my small paintings sold to a couple at the Frying Pan Gallery in Wellfleet! I love imagining that they’ll be lined up down a corridor in Boston brownstone or grouped together in a sunny kitchen somewhere. So happy that they found homes together. 🩵
This is me and Mochi since my son’s wedding. Luckily, the long dry summer has given way to some cool, rainy weather. Lovely. When my daughter was little she hated naps so I would tell her to just lay down for some “special rest. I’m getting some special rest.🥹
Work in Progress. This is a very big painting, the “golden ratio” composition has challenged me and I’m tired. So I blocked out the shapes and created the feeling of the Swedish Archipelago (of my youth) and will go back to it in September in my home studio with fresh enthusiasm and the positive attitude to finish it. Any constructive feedback is welcome. Going to make a cocktail now.

Great weekend of gallery openings and fun with my gang! 🩵 So much beautiful work!
A great night in Provincetown seeing the opening of the Provincetown Museum Member’s Show! Some great work! Auction going on now at paam.com 🩵
Happy. To much wonderful son and his beautiful bride. 🤍
This painting sold at the Frying Pan Gallery last night, just as we were toasting my son and his beautiful bride-to-be. Coincidence? I think not. I think my work was emanating the happiness and gratitude I feel. 💙 Today is their wedding day. Somebody pinch me. ☺️
🙏 😇
A simple atmospheric vibe. I’m just letting it rest for now. 🩵
Kamala will be a fantastic President. I’m with her. 🩵
Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit Pete Hocking in his Truro home and studio. Pete captures the extraordinary beauty of the outer cape in such breathtaking way. Interestingly, the piece we were drawn to, and ultimately purchased from Pete, was inspired by Newcomb Hollow, our very own beach in Wellfleet! I left so elated and happy! As an artist, it reminded me that a work of art can truly bring great joy to someone.

Cyanotype season has begun. 1) Set up cyanotype with garden flowers 2) Go to the beach 3) Come back and make a cocktail 4) Rinse print in water and repeat! 😝
Found an 12” acrylic painting from way back, modified it a bit with some oil paint/galkyd and pray it dries in time to submit to the Provincetown Museum 12” Members Show. It’s so humid here it might not dry until October! I don’t have any acrylics here so I’m really winging it!! 🤓
Hey there! Check out the article about me in Garnet Valley Living! My hometown magazine! So exciting!! 🤩
Happy Juneteenth from beautiful Provincetown! A wonderful artist’s outing today seeing the extraordinary work of at On Center Gallery! Such beautiful work! I then took myself to lunch and bought a pair of shoes made from vintage Hermes scarves! Yay me! 🩵
😊
A dear friend and collector sent me this picture of the late afternoon sun playing off of a painting I had made for her years ago. It was a powerful reminder that the work we make as artists go out into the world, with lives all their own, long after the paintings have left the studio. They are living things. 🫶
I had a large painting on an ever so slightly warped panel that I never noticed until it was hung. 😬 Fortunately, my rock star framer, repaired it and put a beautiful maple trim around it. It finished it off so beautifully! I don’t normally frame large panels but am definitely going to do this simple maple finishing in the future. Just goes to show that there is usually an upside to having to overcome an obstacle. 😊 This will be headed to The Frying Pan Gallery next week! 🩵
Is there anything nicer than cut flowers from your own garden? It’s such a simple and satisfying pleasure. 🧚♂️ Tomorrow I’ll bring them to the studio and paint them.
