National Clergy Appreciation Month + Indigenous People Day = Extraverted Introverts
People who stand for (in and with) theology, liberation, justice, and historical preservation on public platforms are more private than you think. Just because they are loud on the mic doesn’t mean they want to be loud with their life. Most of the time, they have to accumulate the energy, thought, and stamina to handle the pressure of “one to many” responsibilities. This includes Parenting and leading large families. So, BE KND. Kindness takes on many forms.
1. BE KIND - Verbally and Valuably Appreciate what adds value to your life from their contribution to culture.
2. BE KIND - Give them consideration in the space and preparation that they need to keep showing up impact-fully.
3. BE KIND - Stay away from uninformed and under-informed reflections upon their life worth and work.
If you can’t be kind, be ready for them to turn the nature of their giftedness on you to protect their right the human process. It might seem mean or rude. However, it must be said “______________ is human too.” With that being said, expect humanness in exchange for that which you treated inhumanly.
It’s easier to be kind.

Beautiful Wednesday, HBCU Phenoms!
Let’s celebrate this phenomenal young woman. Congratulations to Clark Atlanta University Scholar Madysen Forney for being selected as an Obama - Chesky Scholarship for Public Service Recipient - .
Out of 1,800 submissions, Forney was one of 100 students from across the nation to participate in a two-year immersive travel program
funded and sponsored by the Obama Foundation, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Brian Chesky the CEO of Airbnb.
Forney will receive up to $50,000 in financial aid, and a travel stipend to anywhere in the world to provide public service as part of her personally designed summer voyage. Forney is the only female selected from the Atlanta University Center.
Forney will meet President Obama and Brian Chesky in the fall.
Dr. Love Henry Whelchel, a genius black historian. He lived his name. He never lost focus on the students!

Dr. Eddie S. Glaude Jr. is an American academic. He is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University, where he is also the Chair of the Center for African American Studies and the Chair of the Department of African American Studies.
