Eleven Brushes
Back in 2007 Siân Richards was getting ready to shoot a movie in Los Angeles and needed some new brushes. Recently located from London England, Siân was used to great European quality hand made natural hair brushes and had used them all her life both as an artist and makeup artist. Yet she couldn’t find anything like them in the movie capital of the world; Los Angeles. A plan formed, and a dream was born from a gap in a market needing something good.
She started designing brush shapes, set about finding a brush maker in the UK, and with some of the money left to her by her late mother, created 11 sable makeup brushes ordering 10 of each. 18 months passed from that lightbulb moment, and in June 2009, she launched at IMATS LA and sold out.... She was known as London Brush Company.
In the last decade, Siân has created the Original Goatmilk and Vegan Solid Brush Shampoos, changing the way the industry cleaned their brushes and sponges. Three more brush collections came - two Vegan and another Cashmere taking the count from 11 to 68.. Her brushes have become legendary and used by top pros and passionistas the world over.
Then in 2016 whilst filming Marvel’s Black Panther, she found another gap in the market - and knew she needed to fill that gap. 4K Longwear Creme was born of necessity and has become another game changer. This multifunctional, waterproof, self setting, silicone based creme cosmetic serves many purposes from tattoo cover, to eyebrow makeup, and with a collection of pigments that enables global skin tones to have foundations that blend flawlessly, the makeup community is served in a 21st Century style once again.
