Delved into musings as I reflect on my journey of the past six years in the world of cinema! Realizing that I have shot ten features already, multiples of short narratives and diving into some exciting web series projects is quite a beautiful shock. Grateful for the love and support from each one of you who has been a part of this journey.
From the first script to the latest wrap, every project has been a learning experience and a step forward in my passion for storytelling. The collaborations, the stories, and the unforgettable moments on set have shaped this incredible ride.
Looking ahead, the excitement is palpable as I embark on new adventures in the cinematic universe. The hunger for more challenges and diverse narratives is insatiable. Can't wait to bring fresh stories to life and work across different languages, styles and industries. As I continue to evolve in this craft and bring in new styles and visuals, I want to give heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey so far, and here's to many more films, web series, and stories to be told. Cheers to the next chapter!

It brings our greatest happiness to tell that our film Bahadur - The Brave became the first-ever debut director's Indian film to win the coveted Kutxabank - New Directors Award at the prestigious 71st San Sebastián International Film Festival.Bahadur - The Brave became the first-ever debut director's Indian film to win the coveted Kutxabank - New Directors Award at the prestigious 71st San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film, produced by Hardhyaan Films (Visvesh Singh Sehrawat) and Sinai Pictures (Thomas Ajay Abraham), had its world premiere on September 23, 2023, as part of the 'New Directors' section at the festival.
A specific international jury is charged with granting the Kutxabank- New Directors Award which is one of the most prestigious monetary prize given at any festival.
'For having a singular and opportune sociopolitical vision, and for delving into an exciting local story with universal scope, centred around an honest and touching friendship, the jury of the Kutxabank-New Directors award proudly bestows 'Bahadur - The Brave' by Diwa Shah with this esteemed honour.' Painting with Light
Modhura Palit studied cinema at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, one of India’s leading film schools. Member of the Indian Women Cinematographers Collective (IWCC) as well as of the Eastern India Cinematographers Association (EICA), she is part of the Busan Asian Film Academy (AFA), and she took part in the Looking China Youth Film Project in 2015. Thanks to this project, she travelled across China and directed, lit, edited and produced the short documentary The Girl across the stream in 18 days. Modhura is the first Indian to receive the Pierre Angénieux Special Encouragement Award at Cannes 2019. Modhura is a huge supporter of independent films . She has been working on short-films, tvc, documentaries, corporate films and feature films. Watchmaker – experimental short film Modhura shot is part of Dhaka University film studies curriculum.
Modhura loves playing with light and images and tries to tell a story with her craft.She is also a trained classical dancer and she enjoys painting. She is a voracious reader.
Cinema is something she loves and wants to spend the rest of her life with ; getting closer; making it more intimate.
