Topic: DOING THE WILL OF GOD (Wisdom For The New Week)

"... The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." John 5:19

1. We are born again BY THE WILL OF GOD

We are not products of flesh, or a people belonging to a particular bloodline, we are born of God's will. We "... were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:13).

2. We are born again TO DO THE WILL OF GOD

Jesus said in Mark 3:35, "For whosoever shall DO THE WILL OF GOD, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."

3. We who are born again WANT TO DO THE WILL OF GOD

Your desires are consistent with your nature.

When you are a child of God, you naturally desire to do what God wants you to do. There is no child of God who doesn't want to do THE WILL OF GOD.

Those who belong to Satan's family naturally want to do what Satan desires for them to do. Jesus said to them, "You are of your father the devil, and THE DESIRES OF YOUR FATHER YOU WANT TO DO..." (John 8:44 NKJV)

4. Those who don't do HIS WILL DENY GOD

To confess Jesus as the Lord of your life isn't enough, you've got to produce actions that confirm your confession. "They claim to know God, but BY THEIR ACTIONS THEY DENY HIM. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good." (Titus 1:16 NIV).

Jesus asked, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, AND DO NOT DO THE THINGS WHICH I SAY?" (Luke 6:46).

5. Heaven is for those who DO THE WILL OF GOD

You can't DO THE WILL OF GOD unless you are BORN OF HIS WILL.

Jesus said, " Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; BUT HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN." (Matthew 7:21).

6. Those who deny Him WILL BE DENIED

He went on to say, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:22-23).

7. Know and do THE WILL OF GOD

THE WILL OF GOD is the revelation of what God wants; it is what He wants us to do, have and become; a revelation of where He wants us to go and when He wants us to go; a revelation of who we are, what we have, and what we should do in Christ.

The word of God is the revelation of THE WILL OF GOD. For example 1 Timothy 2:3-4, says, "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." Here we see a two fold revelation of God's will (1) He wants all men saved (2) He wants all who are saved to come to the knowledge of the truth. And so when you are involved in soulwinning, you are doing the will of God, you are proving your sonship to God.

People who are not winning souls and helping them come to the knowledge of the truth are living outside of the will of God, they are not living as God's children. They may cast out demons, prophecy, and perform miracles, but if they don't lead souls to Christ with their words and with their lifestyle, if they don't bring people to the knowledge of the truth, they are lost themselves.

"For this reason, beloved ones, be eager to confirm and validate that God has invited you to salvation and claimed you as his own..." (2 Peter 1:10 TPT). Be eager to confirm your sonship by always going after the will of God and doing those things He wants you to do.

I am alive, not to do my own will, but the will of my Father who is in heaven. Hallelujah!
