↗️ For some it’s a personality trait and for others it’s a busy season. When you’re saying yes to all the things and you won’t stop until you drop — you should reach for Nux Vomica. It may be going from caffeine to alcohol, or even kids pushed to the brink with sugars and play dates. Nux Vomica can help ease the nervous system when you have been living fast and need to tap back into your calm state.

Aconite has the calming power in resetting your body during moments of extreme fear and trauma. Through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine, during birth it is believed that the Ming Men, or the Life Gate, is open enabling the pelvic girdle to allow passage of the birthing infant. As the baby, the waters, and the placenta are birthed the gate is viewed as fully opened. Simultaneously as birth occurs, the internal fire of labor ceases. The uterus, now empty and bleeding, can cause a woman to experience cold and weakness through this expansive opening.

It is here where we can be intentional to create and allow the mother to rest, be warmed, and have space to recovery so to see that the gate may close again. By removing cold, and putting back heat into the body, we can create more opportunity to the body to self regulate, move energy towards healing, and reduce risk of future pains and weaknesses rooted in the pelvis.

🌊 Sepia, derived from cuttlefish ink! This natural remedy, secreted by the animal for protection, is a top recommendation for hormone imbalances, especially in postpartum care. Sepia works wonders in aiding the body’s shift in various areas, from the circulatory system (think hemorrhoids and varicose veins) to the digestive tract (goodbye morning sickness!), connective tissues (relief for pelvic congestion, constipation, and chronic UTIs), and even the skin and nervous system!

The passage of maiden to mother is requires strength, growth, vulnerability and resilience. It is a season of intense growth and transformation in the physical form, as well as mind and spirit. This time can bring forth a profound sense of empowerment and awe.

Ceremonial closing of the bones honors the mother’s unique journey, affirming her worth and the beauty of her body and all that it has done. It is believed by honoring the mother that this allows her to shift further into restoration and balance.

As part of our Nurses to Nurture Mother Roasting we are offering Closing of the Bones to all mothers. Whether you are fresh outside your first 40 days, or years beyond a growing womb — there is a benefit for all. ✨

Arsensicum Albumn, derived from arsenic — in nature causing various symptoms effecting digestive and nervous systems, alongside weakening physiologic functions.

Using “like cures like” and the law of similars, we reach for arsenicum in the smallest dose to treat the same symptoms it casues. The trace amount of this substance helps to heal the body as a whole.

Arsenicum Album can facilitate shifts in physical, mental, and emotional aspects of the body. Arsenicum Album is commonly used for infectious processes, medical fears, anxiety, and GI disturbances.

We hope this message finds you well and filled with the same warmth and joy that we experienced at our recent Blue Zone Beach meet up. It was truly a special gathering where we came together to share food, build community, and watch our kids play freely in the sand.

The veggie meals that were shared amongst us added a delicious touch to the evening, complementing the beautiful surroundings and creating a sense of togetherness. It was heartwarming to see everyone connecting and enjoying each other’s company in such a serene setting.

As we reflect on the memories created during our time at the beach, we are reminded of the importance of nurturing both our bodies and our relationships. We are grateful for each and every one of you who contributed to making this event a success.

Let’s carry the spirit of camaraderie and wellness forward as we continue to support each other in our journey towards health and happiness.

With gratitude,
Charlene & Taylor

At NTN with our background in nursing combines with our experience as doulas offer a unique approach to healthcare that combines traditional medical practices with complementary and alternative therapies. This integrative model of care is particularly beneficial for individuals facing new diagnoses, post-surgery recovery, caring for aging parents, navigating chronic illnesses, and managing acute immune health issues. By addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health, integrative doula provides comprehensive support to patients during these challenging times.

For individuals receiving a new diagnosis, integrative doulas can offer guidance, emotional support, and complementary therapies to help them cope with the shock and uncertainty of their condition. Post-surgery patients can benefit from holistic nursing care that focuses on pain management, wound healing, and overall well-being to promote a speedy recovery. Aging parents may require specialized care that addresses their unique needs and promotes quality of life as they age.

Individuals navigating chronic illnesses can benefit from integrative approaches that focus on managing symptoms, improving quality of life, and supporting overall health and wellness. Finally, those dealing with acute immune health issues can benefit from holistic nursing care that strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation, and promotes overall health and well-being.

Integrative doulas play a vital role in supporting individuals through these challenging health situations, offering personalized care plans that address the whole person and promote healing on all levels.

Here at NTN we wear many hats but one that we strive to grow in our community and in the nursing world is our focus on holistic nursing. Holistic nurses play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

In addition to traditional nursing duties, they also take on the responsibility of managing patients’ doctor’s appointments, medications, and overall well-being in a holistic manner. By considering the whole person and not just their symptoms, we are able to promote healing and wellness on all levels by collaborating with other providers in our community.

This integrated approach is what we call our INTEGRATED DOULA service. The aim not only improves patient outcomes but also enhances the overall healthcare experience. Holistic nurses truly embody the essence of patient-centered care and are instrumental in promoting health and healing in a holistic way.

We are excited to announce our newest service that can be tailored to your needs.

If you want to chat about how we can support you or a family member in this way connect with us for a free consult.

Did you know that both of us here at Nurture are trained in the Vodder Technique of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)? Taylor and Charlene have experience in post surgical, oncology, prenatal, postpartum, fertility with a focus on women’s needs.

This hands-on treatment involves gentle, rhythmic massage movements designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, encourage the movement of lymph fluid through the lymphatic vessels. This helps to reduce swelling, remove toxins, and improve the overall function of the lymphatic system —which plays a crucial role in immune function and fluid balance within the body.

While this service is based on a specific sequence of intentional, directional movements; it is also  customizable to meet the needs of each individual.

Benefits of MLD include:
🌀Reducing swelling and edema
🌀Improving circulation and lymphatic flow
🌀Promoting detoxification and elimination of toxins

When it comes to post-operative healing, finding effective and natural remedies to aid in the recovery process is crucial.

Homeopathy, a holistic system of medicine, offers a range of benefits that can help promote healing and alleviate discomfort after surgery. From reducing swelling and inflammation to managing pain, promoting wound healing, boosting immunity, and providing individualized treatment, homeopathy provides a holistic approach to recovery.

Here are a few we added to this care package:

🌱Hypericum- Nerve pain
🌱Staphysgeria- Promotes healing of surgical incision
🌱Sleep Calm- Calms a restless mind to help restore a healthy sleep pattern
stress Calm- Reduce nervous tension, calming both mind and body
🌱Calendula Cream- Heals skin irritations from minor burns to cuts and scrapes
🌱Arnica Cream- Diminishes discoloration and reduces pain and swelling

Besides homeopathy there are other powerhouse products that we love and were so excited to share!

🪷Blue Majik Beauty Balm- creates custom clean skincare. Infused with oxygen it synergistically works with herbs and essential oils to promote healing
🍯Turmeric Hot Chocolate- decrease inflammation and contains powerful antioxidants
🍍Hand-crafted herbal support

Please note that while homeopathy and integrative modalities can be beneficial for post-operative healing, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment. This post is for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice.

Immune system support
The weather has been unpredictable these last few days, swinging from freezing to hot and humid. We have had weeks with minimal sunshine and high levels of pollen! All of this crazy led to 2 kiddos with some sniffles and a lingering cough. That being said here are a few of our favorites that went into the backpacks this morning, to boost the immune system and get them through the day.
🌱 cold calm is a great homeopathic combination when you are in a rush. It covers sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, congestion at every stage of a cold.
🌱 immune support spray
🌱 bioplasma 12 mineral cell salts that your system needs to restore back to balance.
🌱 thieves hand sanitizer you can find it from or
🌱 throat spray works miracles if you have a sore throat
are great to hold items and fit into lunchboxes or backpacks!

Bromelein” is a combination of protein digesting enzymes

Studies have shown bromelain exhibits various fibrinolytic, antiedematous, antithrombotic, and anti-inflammatory activities. Translation- breaks up clots, decreased swelling, and decreased inflammation! Whether its your respiratory and sinus track, your heart and blood vessels, or even autoimmune inflammation…Bromelein packs a punch✨

Pineapple, especially in the stem, has a high concentration of this powerful agent bromelein.

Does anyone else in your house have that linger cough that seems to be everywhere lately? Easier than reaching for a supplement, is finding the source through food and in your diet. Because the concentration is highest in its stem that might not always be the most kid effective way to get it in though. Blending up fresh pineapple with the core, straining, and using a gelatin powder can be a kid-friendly to support the body during illness or even as a fun treat.

Welcome Baby Massage- Labor focused massage. Today I had a client request an “induction massage” I like to shift the focus more on supporting “mom to be” on relaxing into her body so that the body can naturally begin the process of labor. Through pressure points , craniosacral , massage techniques focused on relaxing the hips, and essential oil can help our clients release any fear or tension. By coming into a relaxed state and releasing any emotional and physical restriction we see a lot of success in labor. Massage, chiropractic, Acupuncture and homeopathic medicines can be great tools through out pregnancy and in preparation for labor. Massage location

It’s the season for
immune boosting! This is the time of year where our bodies could use a little extra support.
Introducing Turmeric, Ginger, Honey 🍯 💣 and Fire Cider!
Both of these are a staple in our homes this time a year. They both are delicious and can be taken straight by the teaspoon daily for prevention or to help shorten the duration of symptoms.
We love to add a teaspoon of Honey Bomb to hot water and sip like a tea.
The best part…there are no rules to making Fire Cider or the Honey Bomb. You can make all different combinations!
Some of our favorite ingredients to add to our Fire Cider are:

🌱 fresh horseradish
🌱 ginger root
🌱turmeric root
🌱 thyme
🌱sage
🌱 red onion
🌱 garlic
🌱elderberries
🌱 citrus fruit
Prep all the ingredients, chop, grate, or quarter items to place in large mason jar. Do not overfill mason jar and then top with apple cider vinegar. Cover jar with a non corrosive lid and shake every day. Leave at room temperature for at least 3-4 weeks. Then strain liquid with a colander or cheese cloth, sweeten with honey if you like and bottle. Best to store in fridge once bottled. Can be used as salad dressing, top roasted veggies, or taken neat!
Enjoy!

We’re still here! Social media at times can be one more ball to juggle alongside motherhood, homeschooling, nursing and massage careers, and a calling to extend our reach out beyond our homes.

But know there is little silence behind the scenes. We are manifesting and dreaming big on how we plan to fill a need in the communities we have long served.

Excited to share how we’ve been spending our time and all that’s coming. ✨

We are still here! We are both in a time of transitions with our kids starting new school programs, job shuffling, new activities and so much more. We are leaning into the things we have learned throughout the years that help to support us and our families emotionally and physically. Things that we plan to start sharing with you soon. But right now we are taking our own advice and being fully present in this season of change to come out even stronger and with more health and wellness tips to share. In the meantime these are few things we have been up too.

Homeopathy — are you familiar? Homeopathy works by matching a person’s symptoms with those symptoms produced by these substances in healthy individuals. Substances in nature, turned into medicine by means of high dilution and succussion.

Treating “like by like.” Comparatively to treating a disease process with a one size fits all approach, in clinical homeopathy a medicine is matched to a specific set of symptoms an individual is showing.

The possibilities are endless. Have you used homeopathy before?

This weekend marked the end of our 8 month long clinical homeopathy course through the CEDH. We were lucky to find the CEDH which has the worlds largest clinical homeopathy course for healthcare professionals. The CEDH partners with , which continues as an independent pharmaceutical laboratory that puts out premium quality products. Most people know for their Arnica and Oscillococcinum. While learning with the CEDH we were blessed to attend live classes in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and meet other likeminded healthcare professionals and take class from Dr. Hakimi bodyofharmony. Dr. Hakimi, has a diverse medical background with practices in Florida and California and was able to share his vast knowledge with us through each live session. Now the studying begins as we prepare for certification.

Hi, Taylor here — the other half of nurses to nurture. Born and raised in Tequesta, Florida I have always had a special appreciation for the simple life that can be found in our once small beach town. Married my high school sweetheart, at home with our three kids is where you can find me most of the time.

A graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic nursing school in 2011, with experience in medical-surgical, oncology, plastic and reconstruction surgery, hormone and age rejuvenation, and most recently primary care medicine.

I wouldn’t be who I am today without acknowledging how I got here. Truth be told there was no pivotable moment where I decided I wanted to be a nurse, but rather it was always my plan. As a young girl I was lucky enough to spend many of my afternoons bouncing around the halls of my grandfather, Dr. Grogan’s doctors office. Proud of who I am and his legacy of opening up the first doctors office in the Jupiter Tequesta area in 1956. Witnessing the impact a single person can have on a community engrained at a young age.

So while I was always going to be a nurse, with an intrinsic desire to care for others, I now couldn’t be more proud to serve the same community as he. We recently moved our family from Tequesta to Jupiter Farms and are embracing all that comes with a little more space and a slower pace.

My road motherhood was not always easy. After years of trying for our second child, an infertility diagnosis was an eye opening experience going from from care provider to patient overnight. Being a nurse didn’t spare me from the feelings of helplessness navigating a world I didn’t yet want to understand. Eventually we were able to expand our family after a season of waiting and the ingenuity of reproductive medicine. It was the miracle we were waiting for, but quickly realized we weren’t done being wrapped up in our reliance on our current medical system.

We discovered we were now entering a new realm as parents of a child with a rare and often terminal disease. Quickly again on the other side of medicine, I knew it was up to me to be the advocate my family needed most. For me, motherhood came with the most defining moments of self discovery in passion and purpose.

Within my own personal challenges, I had the realization that in order to be well you have to address the whole person and the whole family. Experiencing the gaps in the medical system as a nurse, as a patient, and as a parent were transformative in my pursuit to help others who may be falling through the cracks in our medical system.

I have been fortunate enough to be invited into others most intimate moments of life. From birth, to death, and the vulnerability of navigating new medical diagnosis,’ it’s during these times that I feel all people deserve to feel supported.

Currently raising kids, homeschooling, but never giving up on my passion to be apart of serving our community. I have trained and worked as a birth and postpartum doula, certified in manual lymphatic drainage, and am currently enrolled in a clinical homeopathy program. I see food as an opportunity to feed your body and your soul. Preparing nutrient dense comfort foods, exploring herbs, while getting the whole family involved is what fills my cup most. In my experiences, I have discovered that healing is lifelong, takes constantly learning, and is better suited to do alongside those who lift you up.
