Stony Creek Butterfly Room
preschool
The Butterfly room has been enjoying some Halloween fun!!
Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about trees. We created our own trees, learn about parts of a tree and what trees provide for us (fruit, oxygen, wood, maple syrup, and paper). We made applesauce and eat pancakes with maple syrup!!
Everyone had a fun first day of school! I tried to get pictures of everyone! If you don’t see your child, don’t worry because I’ll be taking plenty more this week. 🙂
They said the pajama party was so much fun! 🥳😃
More pictures! The kids wanted to have wacky Wednesday again so something wacky happened to our classroom! 😆
Here are some pictures from our fun filled week last week!
We saw cool animals today!
We had a fun week!
After seeing the bumblebee class start a fairy garden, our class decided to start one too! Zoey and her mom brought some fun things to help get us started! 😊
We’re all happy that our zinnias are blooming!
Last Friday a squirrel visited our bird feeder 😆
Giving our plants a nice drink of water before the long holiday weekend! (I didn’t think it would rain later 😆)
Today we worked together (like ants) and organized the blocks by shape by taking them out of a bucket and putting them into their designated containers. We also made any colonies with black beans.
Fun at preschool!
Today the kids made bread with Ms. Eva. I forgot to take pictures when it was done but it was delicious!
😂
Wouldn’t be fun without a dance party!
We played with flowers in water!
We had fun playing pin the bee or ladybug on the flower!
We enjoyed eating “dirt and worms”!
This morning we made freshly squeezed lemonade!
We started our insects investigation! This week we are talking about characteristics of insects. During morning choice time, we did observational drawings outside. We looked for insects and drew pictures of what we saw. During circle time we discussed insects having 6 jointed legs and bodies made up of 3 parts. We got into groups of 3 and walked around the classroom to see what it would be like to move with 6 legs!
I thought I posted these pictures but I guess I didn’t! Ms. Eva brought in her pet bunny Otis. This was 2 weeks ago. The kids had fun with him!
Photo Dump! These were from 2 weeks ago! Planting our flowers, watering, and sprinkling coffee grounds everywhere to hopefully keep the chipmunks out!
Yesterday we talked about hedge mazes! We made our own maze with strips of paper and used blocks to make hedge mazes for toy people.
Since we couldn’t go outside today we made an obstacle course! ☔️
Today we learned about monarch butterflies and how they are becoming endangered (a new vocabulary word), meaning that there aren’t very many left in the world. We also learned that since we are gardeners we can help save them by planting milkweed in our gardens. ( if I can find one I will bring one for our garden) We also made monarchs for our morning art project.
This week we walked around the garden to see what needs to be repaired! We also dumped out our compost bin/worm habitat (it was getting smelly) into one of the garden beds. We hope to start planting next week!!
Pictures from last month. Bunny Ears! 😂
