The ambiance and the food (desserts and mostly their drinks) are topnotch. I have been a regular to this café ever since they opened and therefore, got to try almost half of their menu. The servers are well trained as well. Although their price is on a higher range, I have found the quality to be amazing. Quantity, on the other hand, might not be sufficient for many.

Hello fellow trekkers!
We as a couple, just completed our Annapurna base camp trek . Our trekking period was from 13th to 20th September, 2023. There are few important points we would like to mention for any interested trekkers who are willing to go for ABC trek.
1) Our trekking route started from Jhinu (we skipped Ghandruk due to high leeches attack specially as it was still rainy season here).
2) It's better to buy your gears from Bangladesh as it's more expensive in Nepal.
3) We were lucky to find a person called Mr. Bikash (manager of hotel middle-path and spa. +977 981-5173213 this is his number, he is available in WhatsApp), who arranged an affordable transportation till Jhinu and also a porter for us (Navindh da, who was amazing).
4) It's better to buy snickers bars in bluk from Bangladesh as it gets quite expensive as you go up.
5) Purchase Aqua tab in advance from Pokhara as filtered water is very expensive in the trekking route.
6) Food gets more expensive as you go up so it's better to carry light snacks (as a couple our cost per day in each lodge was around 5k including WiFi, hot shower, food and accommodation).
7) Most of the lodges were clean but it's better to carry a sleeping bag as some might not.
8) To prevent AMS, drink at least 5 litres of water, take their garlic soup and breathe through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
9) Carry an oximeter (it saved one of our lives).
10) If you get AMS attack, do not sleep or lie down. Instead, sit in a comfortable position and keep taking deep breaths and exhale from the mouth.
11) Don't rush to complete your journey. Enjoy the trek and support/motivate each other. It's an easy 6 days trek, but do take time if needed.
12) Keep your oxygen level in check, especially from Deurali to ABC, as you will gain altitude very rapidly.
13) If you face AMS attack, come down few meters, take rest and try to adjust your body to the high altitude and then go up.

Place: Bengal Tea Lounge
Address: Tajwar centre, road 19/A, house 34, Banani, Dhaka.

Another thoughtful and well decorated restaurant by the Bengal group. The ambiance was very pleasant. Although the food is on a pricey side compared to the quantity, the flavor makes it up for it.
Items:
1) Pepper Mushroom Chicken:
The rice was very light and flavourful. The mushroom chicken gravy was packed with the right amount of spices. The glossy gravy along with well cooked chicken was a good addition to the rice.

2) Grilled chicken with beans salad:
This one was my favorite. The chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The salad includes red beans, chickpeas, corn along with other ingredients. It was light, fulfilling, and delicious.

3) Milk tea:
Simple milk tea made right. Served with two pieces of biscuits made of oats and nuts.

4) Peach Iced Tea:
This wasn't my favorite as I had better elsewhere.

Place: InterContinental Dhaka

I recently stayed at Intercontinental hotel, Dhaka and had a pleasant experience.
I took their 'Relax and Recharge' package and got to stay for two nights including Buffet breakfast and Buffet dinner along with other facilities (their available packages has been mentioned in the pictures below). The stay was around 20,000tk which was a steal for the service and quality.
They have few categories of packages available till 6th May, 2023.
Their newly opened Spa was one of the best experience of our stay.
They have the best food selection (few pictures had been provided below) and their in-room amenities are too good. They provide Starbucks pods with coffee machine which was great for me being a coffee person. Their service was topnotch and booking was hassle free.
Their club members get 25% discount year round at their restaurants and spa as well.

Place: Rivendell by Gotcha
The place is spacious and cozy. It has both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements.The space is nicely decorated, which is perfect to enjoy their drinks.

The taste of this drink was well balanced and unique. The cheese topping was definitely a perfect combination to go for with this drink.

Newly launched Galito's Bangladesh has opened their franchise at Gulshan-2. Those who are craving Nandos can definitely give them a try. But the question is, are they as good as Nandos?
Well, as taste is subjective and personal, it will vary for each person. Galito's herb based sauces do taste different from Nandos.
I ordered :
1 whole chicken that comes with 4 sides. I chose coleslaw×2, fries and rice.
1 Melon teaser
1 Tropical slushy

The chicken pieces were perfectly cooked and the sides were good as well. The drinks were refreshing, specially melon teaser.

Country: Nepal
I went to Nepal very recently (29th December 2022 to 4th of January 2023). I'll share with you the places I have visited and the food I have tried along with my overall experience. This was my second time visiting this country, and let me tell you, the weather does make a difference.

KATHMANDU

● I stayed at Ramada Encore By Wyndham Kathmandu. They provided buffet breakfast along with night stay. Their rooftop was designed beautifully, and the dinner was splendid.
We ordered:

Choyela chicken
Chicken momo
The food was delicious, specially their momo.

Their pizza, decor and ambience was perfect. We ordered half and half pizza:
Smoked chicken and four cheese pizza. They serve with infused garlic and chili olive oil, which amplifies the taste. It was enough for two people.

● Purple Haze Rock Bar has to be one of the best rock bar in thamel. Their live music, crowd, decor and food is spot on. A must visit place if you are up for good music with your food. We ordered:

● The road journey usually includes stoppage at Hill Top Restaurant/Resort. Their mountain view is splendid and so is their food. We ordered:

DHAMPUS

● Dhampus is a remote area of Nepal where you can experience the best view of the mountains. We stayed at a local lodge called Dhaulagiri View Hotel Pvt Ltd,Dhampus. The scenic beauty is indescribable. The food was fresh and delicious. They provide breakfast which includes two slices of white bread, pan roasted potatoes, omelette, jam and honey. This simple food was amazing with the view. For dinner, we ordered:
Chicken momo
Veg thali ×2
Chicken thali
Water
Total price: 2270 NPR

● We did a short trekking to Australian Base Camp. The view was better when I first visited in March compared to January as it was foggy. But, nonetheless, the café and the environment makes up for everything else. The pizza might not be for everyone's taste buds but the momo was good, specially the sauce.

POKHARA

● We stayed at . Although, the hotel lacks good view but their food was decent. They serve buffet breakfast as well. For dinner, we ordered:

● Sundown by karma pkr has to be one of the most beautiful restaurant to visit in Pokhara. Not only are they amazingly designed, their food and the view was splendid. We ordered:

NAGARKOT

● We stayed at Hotel Country Villa, Nagarkot, and what a mesmerizing place it us to visit! Their view was spectacular. Early morning breakfast (buffet), evening coffee and dinner by the campfire, every experience was worthwhile.

Grilled fish with mashed potatoes ×2

They charge 2500 NPR for campfire

After a long break, I am back with a new blog. Why so late? Because, I believe quality over quantity. As you know by now, I am not just a food blogger but a travel enthusiast.

Item: Beef Shish Kebab
One piece of beef shish kebab served with raita and pickle. The beef was well marinated, spiced and charred. It was a bit spicy which was to my liking. The meat was tender.

Item: Chicken Tandoori
One piece of grilled chicken served with raita and pickle. The chicken too was marinated and charred to perfection. It was properly cooked and the meat was succulent. I liked the spice mixture. It went well with naan.

Item: Reshmi Malai Kebab
It was less spicy compared to the previous two items. The aromatic herb marination went well with the succulent chicken pieces. It too was served with raita and pickle.
Price: 290 tk ++

Item: Garlic Naan
It was soft and flavourful. Served freshly baked that enhanced the flavours. Went well with the kebabs.
Price: 72 tk ++

Item: Mint and Garlic Naan
Compared to the Garlic Naan, this was less aromatic. The mint flavours weren't noticeable thus I would prefer their Garlic Naan more.
Price: 90 tk ++

Finally a nice rooftop Kebab place in Dhanmondi ! Although the price point seemed a bit higher compared to other Kebab places, but considering their ambience and spacious open to sky decor, you can give them a try. A perfect place for family and friends gathering. They have thoughtful seating spaces for couples too. Their open kitchen is one of their best feature. They have indoor seating space as well.
They will be introducing Seafood and Coffee+Tea in their menu soon.

1) Beef Ribs Mungdi : It comes with a hearty broth, rice noodles, beef rib brisket garnished with coriander and caramelised onions. They serve dried shrimp powder, chili flakes, black pepper and salt on the table. You can level up the spice level according to your taste bud. The mungdi was served with lemons which amplified the flavourful broth. The brisket was soft and tender. The bone fell off the meat effortlessly and the charred meat was delicious.
The quantity might not be fulfilling for some.

2) Seafood Mungdi: This too comes with a hearty flavourful broth, rice noodles, squid, crab garnished with coriander and caramelised onions. The seafood was cooked to perfection.

3) Smoked Lemonade: Just like the name, the drink is made with smoked lemons that adds a flavourful punch. It is tangy and sweet and very refreshing.

4) Mama Cool: It is made with grilled coconut and coconut water. It was one of the best thing on their menu and is highly recommended. It's subtle sweetness with added crunch from the finely chopped grilled coconut is a treat to the soul.

Place: Nazimgarh wilderness resort, Lalakhal, Sylhet.
Nazimgarh-Wilderness Resort

I recently visited one of the most underrated and a hidden gem of a resort situated near Lalakhal, Sylhet.
There are two Nazimgarh resort in Sylhet.
1) Nazimgarh garden resort at Khadim Nagar, Sylhet.
2) Nazimgarh Wilderness resort, Lalakhal, Sylhet.

We visited Nazimgarh Wilderness Resort. It is situated at walking distance from Lalakhal.

The place was breathtakingly beautiful. The overall ambience was very peaceful. You will get the true feeling of living amongst the woods in the middle of a forest.
Apart from superb view from the room (we took Delux Panaroma Room), the food was too good.
I would highly recommend to take Bengali cuisine rather than Italian /Chinese /Thai. The fishes they provide were fresh and well prepared. They do not preserve raw ingredients and menu mostly depends upon what they can find the following day at the market.
●Coming to the prices, they charge 15%VAT, 10% service charge and additional 20%service charge for in room dining. On average it would cost from 1200tk to 1800tk for a couple per meal. However, we found the tea to be overpriced. 102tk per cup of tea if served at the room.
Boat ride costs 1000tk per hour.
Cycling is free with stay.
●They have a small swimming pool with a plunge pool ( don't have heating system). Activities include, cycling, kayaking, boat ride at Lalakhal, indoor games etc.
●The resort is quite big. Make sure to roam around and explore. We loved their watchtower.
●Things to know before paying a visit:
1) Only Robi and Grameen phone has network there. There is no wifi in the rooms and the lobby has very poor wifi connection. Thus, it is better to use above mobile data. Keeping in mind that it is situated close to border, network connection is restricted.
2) It is very quiet and serene. You will get picturesque view. If you don't like being in the nature away from city life, this might not be for you.
3) Food selection is limited. We got the Grill fish on request which cost around 1700tk (we ordered a day before). It is better to carry snacks there.
4) Carry mosquito and insect repellent.
5) Service is slow. Therefore, it's better to place orders 1/2 hours prior.
6) They accept card and bkash but it's safer to carry few extra cash. There is a bkash shop right next to the resort. There are no ATM booths around.

We had a wonderful experience and got the thrill of living amongst nature. The room and washroom was well equipped. They have hot water service which is great. A must visit place if you are a seeker of hills and forest like me.

Place: Liverpool KEBAB & CURRY

After a long time I was satisfied trying out a grill and BBQ restaurant. The place was squeaky clean and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The owner lived in London for 30+years and his passion for food let him open up this venture.
Being said that, let's come to the food.
Every item we tried was topnotch !

Item: Mixed Kebab
Price: 795+
This is an ideal platter for two. You can also get an idea about the different type of kebabs they serve to know which one you like the most.
This platter consists of:
(2×Tengri Kebab, 4×Chicken Tikka, 3×lamb Hariyali, 3xChicken Wings, 1x Shish Kebab)
***We substituted the lamb kebab with additional shish kebab
It was served with a special salad and a dipping sauce that indeed complimented the flavors of the kebabs.
This was also served with two regular nans and two garlic nans. These were so soft and buttery that you can't stop eating them!
The quantity was enough for the two of us.

Item: Tandoori Chicken
Price: 295+
Two pieces of Chicken that is perfectly grilled and spiced. It was extremely tender and succulent. This was also served with their house special salad.

Item: Mango Lassi
Price: 195+
It was a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I loved it so much that I ordered it twice!

Found a gem of a place! This is a must visit place for all tea lovers. The owner is passionate about tea and understands flavour. It's a re-creation of our well known 'tong er cha'.

1) Afghani Pink Tea

It's more of a dessert than tea. It's creamy with a hint of pistachio and rose flavour that indeed is a treat. Really enjoyed this one.

2) Hyderabadi Masala Tea

This is a must try for milk tea enthusiasts. A subtle hint of cardamom along with other spices blends well with the tea.

3) Alubokhara Tea
Price: 25tk
This is really unique. It's spicy, tangy and sweet to taste. A perfect balance that works as a palate cleanser.

A newly established restaurant in Cox's Bazar that has eco friendly decor and topnotch food. It is aesthetically pleasing and the food is so delicious that it is worth the drive.

The broth was delicious! It had the zing to it that would refresh your palate. It was loaded with crabs, shrimps and squid. The fresh herbs includes ginger, cilantro, garlic and lemon grass. It was appetising as well as fulfilling. The quantity was good enough for two.

Item: Seafood Platter
Quantity: Can be shared by 2 generously and by 3, enough.
Price: 1200tk
The platter consists of grilled BBQ squid, calamari, Shrimps, crabs and french fries. It was served with tomato ketchup and tangy-spicy green chilli sauce. The quantity was more than enough for two people. Although, I would have preferred less french fries and a bit more BBQ squid to balance the dish. All the seafood was cooked to perfection. The grilled squid and the shrimps were my favourite.

Item: Mango Juice (forgot the exact name they mentioned on the menu)

It was yummy! You can taste the mango pulp that has been freshly made. It was perfectly balanced and served beautifully.

It was refreshing. You can tell it was freshly made from the first sip. Loved the balanced sweetness.

Went to this iconic place after a long time to check if the taste is still the same.

Item: Danish Chicken

I was happy to see that the taste is still the same! Same iconic flavour and taste. Their special sauces do add to the taste.

This was rather a bit disappointing. The dough has that stale taste to it that ruined the dish. The topping was generous.

Tried my mother's trick to smoke up beef liver!

Cook the beef liver like you usually do. Once it's done, serve it on a pot that has a lid. Take a small clay plate and put a clove along with a piece of heated up charcoal and place it at the centre and on top of the dish. Add a few drops of mustard oil on top of the charcoal and close the lid immediately. Open up the lid few seconds later to enjoy!
It gives the meat a nice smokey flavour that is too easy to do.
We often use this technique on chicken and beef. Try it on and do let me know if you liked it.

I always look for something unique when it comes to my mother's birthday cake. Went for a minimalistic modern design this time.
I was amazed by their creativity, workmanship and pastry techniques. So professional!
They have a variety of flavours to offer that aren't available so easily elsewhere.
I chose their Coconut Lime flavour and it was delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavour with added crunch of the crumb. The Coconut flavour was sublet and not at all overpowering. It was truly divine.
Rating: 10/10 (both in terms of taste and decoration)
It was also delivered on time and placing an order was hassle free. A big shout out to them.

This was my second purchase from them and it was consistent in taste. The quantity was generous for 3 people. We took extra rice for additional 100tk. The chicken crepe was my favourite.
They are excellent at communication and delivery. 10/10 on their customer service.

Edith is currently under renovation but they are welcoming guests. They have expanded and updated their menu. Truly enjoyed their spacious open terrace as the weather was spectacular. They have included other franchises under their roof as well. Thus, compiling a wide variety of options, starting from chicken fries, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, calories count healthy bowls to authentic Italian cuisines and wide range of desserts. All of these under one roof!

Item: Fettuccine Alfredo with blackened Chicken.
Price: 580+
They served in-house handmade pasta that gives the authentic taste. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and balanced. The tender chicken pieces were cooked to perfection. Garnished with almond, cilantro and cheese. If only it was a bit more in quantity, it would have been perfect.

Item: Hades Meal
Price: 420+
Flavourful chicken pieces served on top of red bean puree along with water spinach and corns. It was a balanced and fulfilling meal. This could be your best choice if you are counting your calorie intake as they mention it per serving. The chicken was cooked perfectly with spices that went well with the sides.

Item: Blueberry Cheesecake Éclair
Price: 200+
This was delicious! The filling was generous and super yummy. It had the right balance of sweetness that elevated all the flavours. The shell was light and flaky that went well with the creamy filling.
