PREPARING THE YOUTHS FOR PRODUCTIVITY, A NATIONAL EMERGENCY

There is no doubt that education is very essential and should be acquired by any possible means but the reality is that, we're in an era where one cannot underrate the power of skills. Our current educational system is fast becoming too expensive that the average Nigerian can hardly afford it especially due to the current economic recession which becomes worse and worse each passing day.

This behoves government at all levels to as a matter of urgency include vocational and technical studies in our secondary schools curriculum and make it compulsory that every Nigerian student at secondary school level must engage in one form of skill acquisition or the other, this will enable one work and study while in the university.

As it stands today, in most of our communities, about ninety percent or more of secondary school graduates has not acquired even one skill. This is one of the major causes of high rate of crime with it's attendant insecurity militating against the growth and development of our country as the only option left for these teaming vibrant and energetic young lads is to channel their exuberance into illegal businesses like yahoo yahoo while their female counterparts now earn their living with their bodies through the modern method of prostitution which has recently been baptised as hookups.

One of the Presidential Candidates, the distinguished, Mr. Peter Obi, struck at the core of my line of reasoning when he opined that it's about time Nigeria moved from being a consumption state to being a production state. This will no doubt help to revive and boost our economy and one of the quickest ways to achieve this is by training our youths to become productive by themselves, for themselves and for the community at large.

The major reason that I'm what and where I'm today is simply because i was trained by my late father, to be industrious. As early as my JSS 3 days in the secondary school, I was already a technician/fabricator.

I was into aluminum profile fabrication, opened a call(phone boot)center and a cassava grinding plant(that earned me the name okwoakpu ie cassava grinder) in Eziobodo village then as a student in FUTO(Federal University Of Technology Owerri) Imo state despite that I came from an average family.

No man in his right senses can fold his hands and watch himself die of hunger. It's either you die in the process of trying to find something to eat or you succeed in putting food on your table. Remember, Nigeria is not like America that provides monthly food stamps for the unemployed and low income earners.

Impacting the youths to be productive is the pathway to overcoming unemployment with it's attendant negative outcomes because when one is engaged with a skill or the other, one's body, mind and spirit will work in tandem with the sole aim of improving and growing through his passioned skill. An idol man thinks otherwise because idleness generates all sorts of devilish tendencies.

Our youths should also help themselves by taking direct responsibility for turning ideas into profitable and finished products through assertive risk-taking and innovation, as opined by Adewale Kupoluyi in his essay captioned, Employment, while we wait on the government to wake up from her slumber.

No one is prouder of your success than I am, having witnessed and enjoyed first-hand your down to earth discharge of your duty as TC chairman in the recent past in our constituency, especially, in my home town, Umudioka.

The holy book proclaims that, ‘One who is faithful with a few things will be entrusted with many more responsibilities’. Unbeknownst to almost everyone, you kept your face always toward the sunshine by being dutiful, and shadows have eventually fallen behind you. It's therefore no surprise to me that you have been rewarded for a job well done, with a better job.

My appreciations also goes to our Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who has so far in just few days of being in office beamed on us rays of good light by such appointment as yours. This mirrors the so many good things that are about to come the way of Anambrarians and Nigerians at large, through his leadership.

CHIEF AGUJIEGBE CONDEMNED THE GRUESOME MURDER OF HON. OKECHUKWU OKOYE

~ Suspends Political Campaign, prays and calls for peace and love to return to our society.

Its quite disheartening, unfortunate, shocking and barbaric, echoed “Chief Engr Obidi Basil Okechukwu (Agujiegbe 1 na Diokaichi)" at the break of the news about the death of the member representing Aguata ll Constituency in the state House of assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye and his aide Cyril Chiegboka, who were kidnapped, killed and beheaded by his captors.

With eyes full of tears and heartbreak, Chief Agujiegbe described the death of the lawmaker and his aide as irreparable losses that is not only inhumane and despicable but also sacrilegious. Such terrible acts can only be perpetrated by monsters in human forms. Man does not make life and as such are prohibited from taking away the lives of their fellow man who enjoy the free gift of nature like everyone else.

It's so disheartening that what trends in our society recently is the littering of Dead bodies of our beloved brothers and sisters at almost every nook and cranny. Some are killed and maimed beyond recognition and are no longer allowed a befitting burial. Oh! This is how degenerated we've become.

As an intending state house member, Irrespective of their various political parties differences, Chief Agujiegbe has officially suspended his planned three days intra-party consultation ahead of the party’s House of assembly primaries and any other form of political campaign, to mourn the untimely demise of his political colleague and every other victim of the dastardly acts perpetrated by this devil's incarnate in the guise of unknown gunmen.

With tearful eyes and a broken heart, he commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed that God will be with them and give them the fortitude to bear this great loss as they mourn their dead and also called on those terrorising Anambra and Ala Igbo at large to embrace the path of peace as this canker will consume us all if not nipped.

He prayed that God will be with Hon. Okoye's family and give them the heart to bear this great loss as they mourn his shocking death.

A man who wishes to accomplish his goals quickly must ignore any form of distractions, stay focused and forget about regrets. Focus on what you can do now, not what you couldn't do.
