Eric D Crisler - Photographer
Owner of a reflective light capturing apparatus.
Welcome to my corner of the world—where I trade in the hustle and bustle of urban life for the serene beauty of nature, one click at a time! My name is Eric Crisler, and I'm a photographer with an unabashed passion for scenery, landscapes, nature, and wildlife.
Ever since I picked up my first camera (a trusty old film model that probably weighed as much as a small child), I knew I was destined for a life behind the lens. My journey began in the heart of my hometown, where I would roam the parks, capturing every sunset and squirrel that crossed my path. You could say at that point, I was more of a "squirrel paparazzo" than a wildlife photographer, but every shot counted!
Fast forward to today, and I have honed my skills to specialize in capturing the breathtaking landscapes and intricate details of the natural world. From the majestic mountains that stand stoically against the sky to the subtle whispers of a quiet forest floor, I’ve developed an eye for beauty that many would say is borderline obsessive (don’t worry, I promise not to photograph *that* much).
The Pursuit of Perfect Light
My work revolves around the stunning interplay of light and shadow that dances across the landscape. Early mornings and late afternoons are my happy hours—when the golden hour casts its magical glow, and I prepare to capture the world at its most breathtaking. It’s almost like I’m waiting for nature to put on its best outfit, while I stand there, camera in hand, ready to document the whole affair.
But let’s not kid ourselves; wildlife photography has its challenges. I’ve had more than a few close encounters with creatures that were less than pleased to be my subjects. From aloof deer who seemed to think they were the divas of the forest, to the occasional grumpy raccoon who apparently didn’t get the memo that I was in charge, I’ve learned humor is an essential tool in this business. If you can’t laugh when a flock of geese decides to photobomb your perfect shot, then you might just need a new hobby!
A Journey Through the Lens
In my professional journey, I’ve had the opportunity to work with numerous travel publications, outdoor brands, and conservation organizations. I pride myself on not just capturing beautiful images, but telling stories that promote awareness of our natural world. Each photograph I take is not just a pretty picture; it’s a message about the importance of preserving the environments that inspire us.
Beyond the lens, I'm also passionate about mentoring budding photographers. I often joke that my greatest joy comes from teaching people how to avoid stepping on branches while trying to get “the shot." I’ve found that sharing knowledge and watching someone’s eyes light up when they create something beautiful is one of the greatest rewards of my career.
Life Beyond Photography
When I’m not out exploring the great outdoors or curating my next photography exhibit, you can find me enjoying the simple pleasures of life—like perfecting my campfire cooking skills (s'mores are an art form, people!) or planning my next great adventure, which typically involves a map, a cooler full of snacks, and, of course, an assortment of camera gear that could rival a small military operation.
In essence, I am Eric Crisler—a photographer who views the world through a lens, always on the lookout for that perfect shot, and armed with the belief that nature’s beauty deserves to be captured and celebrated. So, if you ever find yourself on a trail and hear a random chuckle followed by the sound of a camera shutter, just know it’s probably me—documenting another moment of magic in this wild and wonderful world we call home.
Let’s capture something breathtaking together!
I am putting together 10 prints that I will be offering a very special deal on. If there are any you would like to see offered, comment “this one” and perhaps I’ll add it to the list.
😂
I am considering making 1 of these images into a limited edition print. I am looking for feeback as to which one it should be.
