Here is my memento mori piece from the final Skinny Puppy show at “The Belasco House” L.A.

40 years ago I began my journey as a DJ. I learned to beat match on two consumer turntables that both had pitch adjust (k***s and dials as opposed to sliders) and a radio shack mixer. This was one of the first two records I learned to beat match with!!

First Geordie Walker from Killing Joke earlier this week and now Shane McGowan has passed.😞

My friends IRL know how much The Pogues mean to me especially during the holiday season. The Pogues and The Chameleons were my holiday soundtrack since 1994. The Pogues were introduced to me by my friend Stacey DeLaRosa while stayed with her and Alex and Chris over the holidays back then. The big two story apartment was filled with laughter and love while Shane McGowan’s voice echoed down the halls. We had several parties that holiday season and even made a murder mystery photo album that as you flipped through the pages it told a story of a serial killer had made up. That winter was cold and we’d all be bundled on the stairs telling stories of our dreams of the apocalypse and trying to scare each other with ghost stories! But all the while Shane was serenading us through the walls.

Sad to see you go and thank you for all the great songs! Rest In Peace Shane. See you on the sunny side of the street.

Hopefully I won’t have to tell this story again to include The Chameleons anytime soon.

Dallas Fe**sh Ball trip day two:FRIDAY BEAT N GREET

Friday I woke up in my room way too early and watched way too many episodes of true crime shows. I couldn’t get motivated to leave my room so I stayed in most of the day taking naps and finally getting up and ready to go to Silver City Cabaret to DJ the Beat And Greet event for Dallas Fe**sh Ball.

My hotel is across the street from a big AT&T plaza with a cool cyberpunk looking curved video wall and a giant metal ball that looks like their logo. I also had a great view of my hotel suite from the ground!!! What a cool place to wait for my Lyft!

The venue was amazing and their food was FIRE!!!! I had their VIP burger and it was delicious!

The show went on without any problems and the place was packed!!! I’ve included pic of my “office” for the evening. Alan Falkner ran video for me as I DJ’d the whole event and got to see some great performances!!

I ran into an old friend of mine from high school, Alice, who was one of the first people I ever went out nightclubbing with (still in high school)!! It had been years since we had seen each other!! What a great surprise!!

The crowd was awesome and everyone looked beautiful! It was such a great night!

After the show we all went to the strip club part of the venue and I hung out there until 2am. I got to hang out and chat with Lane and Patrick and Amanda and Alice and so many others! What a perfect end to a perfect evening!

They had a really beautiful chrome horse statue outside the venue so I had to get a pic with it!!

Then after I took a Lyft back to the hotel my buddy Andrew called me to say he was heading home from Deep Ellum and I asked if he could give me a ride to a 7-11 or QT to grab some food for the hotel. He agreed and we went to two 7-11s…

The first 7-11 was CLOSED (???!!!), and the other didn’t have anything I wanted to eat. We ended up driving to South Dallas and found a QT and I grabbed snacks and food and drinks so I had things at the hotel to eat!

Andrew and I sat outside the hotel talking about Skinny Puppy (as you do) and the clubs and all the usual!
I headed back up to my room at almost 4 am and had s snack and went to bed…. What s fun night!!!

Sunday night I will be DJing at The Church!!!

Day one of my trip to Dallas for the Dallas Fe**sh Ball weekend!!

I started out waking up at 6am to get ready to drive down the mountains to Burbank to fly out to DFW.

Traffic accident changed my normal 1.5 hour trip to almost 2.5 hours so I rush to get ready to leave by 8:30 to get there at least an hour before boarding at 11:50am…. I arrive at 10:32am. ..

Plane is delayed… board at 12:40pm…

Plane is diverted to Albuquerque New Mexico for fueling in case we have to circle DFW due to storms…

3:57pm pacific land in Albuquerque and plane takes around 30 minutes to fuel up, and we take off again for DFW…

Finally land at DFW at 5:35pm pacific, and head to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings in terminal D. I had the nachos with brisket! So good after not eating since 7am!!

At 7pm pacific my bandmate Brian Aitken picked me up and drove me to the Magnolia hotel where I will live until Monday!

After talking with Brian for a bit I go up to my room and immediately had to change rooms for some reasons I’ll spare you from. So they upgraded me to a suite and I’m up here in the 20th floor looking out over the east side of downtown!

I finally got to bed around 12am pacific and slept until noon central!

These are the only pix I took from the first day of the trip. First pic of me is on the plane in Burbank ready to take off, and the second pic of me is at the Buffalo Wild Wings in terminal D….
