At the start of January, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman signed the Al-Ula agreement at the 41st GCC summit. With one beating heart, the unified flag raising was a symbol of our sovereignty, unity and eternal belonging to the United Arab Emirates. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum raised the flag high outside Terminal 3 Departures at DXB and was joined by other representatives from across the airport community.

is an opportunity to reinforce our commitment to sustainability and look towards a greener future. DXB is the first airport in the world to introduce e-paper Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) that run entirely on solar power. Located in the baggage service areas in Terminal 1 & 2, the advanced cloud-based FIDS save energy while improving operational efficiency. By making use of Dubai’s abundant sunlight, the FIDS require only 1.5% of the energy used by other technologies, with each unit saving an estimated 1,000kg in CO2 emissions per year.
