Plans are solidified, so here is your personal invitation to come celebrate my birthday with me. There are so many of you here that I feel like I've gotten to know, but, because of distance, we've either not met in person or had little time together. If you can stop by for five minutes that's great, if you can stay the whole time that's great too. So come say hi, please.

Also, while there won't be any books for sale at the event, I do keep copies in Utah, thanks to my sweet MIL. If you'd like to prepay for a book, I'd be happy to deliver it to you that day. Just shoot me a DM.

If you could drop a comment below πŸ‘‡ if you plan to come that would be super helpful in planning for me. I'm SO excited to see you all. This is going to be awesome!

P.S. the only presents I want is your presence. 😁

When I begin to imagine a character, I usually go to Pinterest to see if I can match it. I get close, but it never quite meets what I see in my head. These are close enough, though.

Meet Eliza and Fredrick.

Wish I could these models credit on my pic, but I couldn't find any names for them. Whoever you are, thanks for coming close to what I imagine Fredrick and Eliza would look like if we met them today.

Big Question❓ My husband and I took these on Saturday because I really need a more professional author photo. Should I use 1, 2, 3 or none at all because they don't look professional enough?

Thanks for your help. ❀️

I'm going to be in Utah people! Anybody up for some fun? I'd love to get to know more of you in person. And if you bring any of my books along, I could sign them. The party would be super casual, and probably a bit crazy and silly like me. But we could do two of my favorite things: chat books and eat snacks. Let me know what you think in the comments.

30/11/2023

Getting ready to make my street team sign-ups, and I figured it was high time I share some quotes. So I'll just drop this here 😁

28/11/2023

So that's not the amount of calories I ate on Thanksgiving Day, but it might be pretty close. Nope, that was my word count for today. I knocked it out of the park. I guess that goes to show how starting a new project that you're excited about can revitalize your writing speed.

This super secret set of books probably won't be released until next fall (or possibly 2025), but we shall see. For now, this is a good start.

So ya... I did a thing. Come see me at Storymakers Conference 2024.

When you have a house full of boys who have an affinity for strange pets, you just roll with it. But somewhere, somehow there will be a friendly praying mantis in one of my books.

Everyone meet Vivi (it's Spanish so it's pronounced Veevee). What kind of meet cute should I do with Vivi? I'm thinking contemporary RomCom.

I got a few new things for my desk. πŸ˜‚ Technically my Poe bookmark isn't new, but the bookmark holder is. Now I just need to decide how I'm going to paint it. Any suggestions?

02/11/2023

I'm a little late to the party since my books actual birthday was yesterday, but I didn't forget, which is doing pretty good for me right now.

As for a writing update, I'm still editing Secrets a Captain Keeps. This will be my whole life until Sunday when I start making my merry way to Las Vegas for the 20books Vegas writing conference.

This is also the reason I have been MIA on social media as well as returning texts, calls, and emails. Sorry if you've tried to reach out to me lately. I'll try to return messages when I crawl out of my editing cave. 😁

Beta readers get ready, because it looks like I'm going to be able to get it out to you by Saturday after all.πŸŽ‰

Here are a few of my favorite quotes this week. And since it's me, there has to be one poignant thought followed by two humorous ones.

This week I've been working on edits for Secrets a Captain Keeps, and every page reminds me why I love this story so much. Even so, edits are still hard. I try to remind myself that the finished product will be beautiful, but my mind throws back a million doubts at me.

This is where the writer/reader community comes in to save me. Your encouragement through interactions and sweet messages help battle my ever self destructive mind. So thank you for being my people. You lift me more than you will ever know.

Love
Teah

It's after midnight here in Texas, so that means if you're in the central time zone Secrets of Fallow Hall is now available to you; but I have a secret. The paperback actually went live on Sunday. So it's available to everyone.

I hope you all enjoy my little contribution to the world of regency romance, and thanks always for your love and support.

Love,

It is time! For those who have followed my series, Merry Men of Eton, I'm pretty sure this is the book you've been waiting for. Pre-orders are already up, and Eliza is waiting to make her big debut... And perhaps she'll let the pesky captain with all his inconveniently fabulous muscles come along.

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

On September 19th book three of the Merry Men of Eton releases to the public.πŸŽ‰ So to celebrate I thought I'd give you a few quotes, only these ones introduce the characters of book four, as well as a special announcement. Enjoy! 😁

πŸ“™ Word Nerd AlertπŸ“™ Special shout out to Cathy for introducing me to this word. One of the best parts about ARC and beta readers is their willingness to share their knowledge.

Today in last minute edits, I replaced an ill-fitting word with this gem. Garrulous it's exactly how I would describe Mrs. Marrol's conversation.I'm so grateful to each of my readers who help me learn something new every day.

Seven more days until this beautiful book will be available! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

One of the many lessons I've had to learn this last year is not to compare myself. I'd love to say I'm rocking it, but honestly it's an everyday battle. I even struggle not comparing myself to healthier me.

I often look at the success of others around me and only see my failures. Or I see how much I used to accomplish and lament my current broken down body. I think it's pretty safe to say I have a terrible case of comparisonitis.

Yes, I know it's not a word, but it should be because I've been afflicted with it a lot since becoming an author. It's so bad that I've even had times I've contemplated giving up. But here's the interesting thing, the only cure for comparisonitis is to keep going.

Instead of comparing, we need to emulate. To look for the good in others, and try our best to put forth that same good, but in our own way.

In other words, don't let others successes pull you down and make you want to quit. Let them lift you up to see what you can accomplish.

So here's to another day of doing the best we can and not giving up.

Love,
Teah ❀️

Ten more daysπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

⭐I need your help friends. I'm going to ask some questions, and we're all going to pretend that it's research for a new book ok. 😁

1. If you struggle with severe decision paralysis, what do you do to overcome it?
2. If you struggle with anxiety, what do you do to treat it?

And last, if I'm really worried about my character, and the mental health system is pretty broken where they live, are there any online resources that can help me find better care that doesn't require my character to travel long distances?

I know I'm asking for quite a bit of vulnerability, so thanks you in advance for the help.

Lots of love

This came out of a funny conversation with today. Just a little Tuesday funny to get you going.

Currently I'm sitting outside waiting for my children's bus to show up. Yes, I know it's barely past noon, but we have a tropical depression moving in and schools let out early. Bring on the flooding πŸ˜‚

It's actually a good thing though. Texas has been burnt to a crisp the last few months and we could really use the moisture.

Of course with school cancelled final edits are not going to go quite as smooth this afternoon. But never you fear, I shall sally forth even if I need to work after they've gone to sleep tonight because honestly, "I have one job on this lousy ship. It's stupid, but I'm going to do it." (Galaxy Quest)😜

17/08/2023

As a mom of seven I don't get a lot of spare time. This is compounded by the fact that my children come with a myriad of health problems. In our home we have four children and myself with severe food allergies. Three children and myself have bee/wasp allergies. Three plus my husband have asthma. One has a heart defect. One has had a muscle condition since birth. Multiple are neurodivergent and have mental health issues. And to top it off, we just found out our youngest most likely has my same autoimmune disorder.

So when I'm not putting out physical and emotional fires so to speak, I only have time for one passion. And that's books πŸ“š

Multiple times over the past few months, as I've seen my kids struggling, I've wondered if I did the right thing by becoming an author. Yesterday I was going over last year's taxes so our oldest could fill out some college forms, and I sighed when I came to the business section with a significant loss in it. Then a hesitant hand softly rubbed my back.

I glanced up to see it was my oldest, whose been going through great struggles lately. With compassion in his eyes, he said, "don't give up, Mom. Keep chasing your dream. It's been an inspiration to all of us to see you work hard for something you love. It gives us hope."

Y'all, I will do ANYTHING to give my kids hope!

In a world that seems to be stacked against them, this mama bear is determined to show them they can succeed. They can find joy. And we all are needed in this crazy world.

So I'm going to go on obsessing about books, and hopefully I can add a few more good ones to the world. And thank you all for helping me chase my dreams.

Lots of love,
Teah ❀️

My apologies to anyone who thought they'd get an intelligent and eloquently spoken conversation when meeting me. It turns out my brain to mouth pathway is a bit glitchy. Also due to said glitch, my foot often migrates into my mouth. 😁 It's an odd but frequent occurrence that generally ends up with people laughing at me, but can often cause others to wonder about the stability of my mental facilities. Well, wonder no longer. πŸ˜‚

So I found this sweet straw bonnet at TJ Maxx a couple of weeks ago, and I think it needs to be trimmed. Give me some ideas on what I should use. Also color suggestion because I'm not super artsy. Ready. Set. Go!

Would you be interested in going on a regency themed trip to England? I know that I would. But it gets even better. You'd get to go with your favorite authors. Right now it's in the planning phase, but the company would love your input. No need to give any personal details. They'd just like to see what people are interested in this sort of experience. You can find the survey here ➑️http://tiny.cc/RegencySurvey , and thanks for your help.

Best part about late night walks on the beach...saying hi to the sand crabs. Do beaches in England have sand crabs or is it too cold?

A little peak into my brain and also my weird way of announcing that you can get paperback copies of my books on other platforms. Happy Wednesday! We're halfway to the weekend.

Because I'm loving everyone else's, I needed to jump on the band wagon. So here's the cliff notes version of our romance.

❀️My best friend tried to set me up with her brother and it didn't work out. But when her brother's best friend came home from abroad, we hit it off... At least for a few weeks until I got scared and told him he was too good for me.

πŸ’™ We didn't talk for several weeks even though we had multiple classes together.

πŸ’› In an emotional low point, I decided to start talking to him again and we became close friends.

πŸ’™ I realized we were getting too close and ghosted him for a week. He came by my apartment and gave me an ultimatum either we date or move back to acquaintances.

🧑 After a few days, I decided to take the leap and we start dating. At this point I was all on board.

πŸ’™After a several months he got push back from his family because they worried about how happy our relationship could possibly be. This made him nervous and our relationship started to struggle. I suppose I could have added forbidden romance to my tropes, but it was never truly forbidden.

πŸ’šA traumatic experience happened to me and he realized he didn't want to lose me no matter what. He told his parents he was sure I was the one which comforted their fears.

❀️ He proposed, we got married, and have spent the last 22 years being exceedingly happy.

Honestly when we sit down and tell people about our love story it takes over an hour. Someday we hope to make it into a book, but until then these the major plot points. 😎

08/07/2023

Pre-order is finally up! It only took me an entire weekπŸ˜…. Anyone else find working with all your children under toe difficult? It's not completely their fault though. I'm just easily distractedπŸ˜‚

Also, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the wonderful .writes is doing a giveaway of my books this week. If you want to get one of the earlier books in this series, head on over to her Instagram page.

05/07/2023

The day is almost done, but I wanted to wish you all a happy fourth. After a certain age we allow our kids to choose whether or not they want their face on my author social media. Of the ones that have reached that age this is how many have chosen to show their faces😜. Isn't it great to have a choice? Thanks to all those who came before us that made it so we could have the freedom to choose.

πŸ“š Coming September 19thπŸ“š
Secrets of Fallow Hall is the third book in the Merry Men of Eton series. Preorders will be up next week.

For those who voted on dress color, thank you. On Instagram there was an overwhelming amount of votes for buttercup yellow, but on Facebook burnt orange seemed to be the consensus. In the end we went with something in the middle.

I hope you enjoy the cover as much as I do.

01/07/2023

It's tomorrow!!! Any guesses what color her dress ended up?

Another swoony snippet. Don't forget to enter the giveaway on Instagram for the previous two books in this series that were painted by the fabulous . I hope you all are getting excited to see the cover of the next book in the Merry Men of Eton series.

I'm so excited to share Bradley and Diana's story with you. To celebrate, I've got some fun things planned this next week so stay tuned for swoony quotes and awesome giveaways. Here's a little quote to start with, though.

21/06/2023

Last year I had the wonderful opportunity of beta reading the second book in this series. It probably wasn't as wonderful for Kasey since I was a newbie at beta reading, but she was so patient with me😊. So when I got the chance to read the first book I was excited.

Properly Wed is a sweet marriage of convenience/ forced proximity story. I must admit I'm a bit of a sucker for both those tropes. I loved the couple's night time routine. It added just the right opportunity for all the feels. Also Felicity's lists were so fun and telling. However, my favorite was the nod to social anxiety. It's a great reminder that the things we face now are not different, just more understood then they would have been hundreds of years ago.

Five stars for this beauty 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Also, I bought book 3. I can't wait to find out what happens to the younger brother. He highly suggest this whole series.

Photos from Teah the Writer's post 19/06/2023

Today is a bittersweet day in our house. Three years ago today we drove through the night from Texas to Utah to say our goodbyes to my father-in-law only to turn around and have to say goodbye to my father two weeks later. Yesterday my dad would have turned 85, and tomorrow marks three years since my father-in-law was promoted from this life to the next.

It seems hard to think that any good could come out of death but you would not be reading this without it. What an odd statement you might be thinking, but let me explain.

You see, three years ago I found myself just existing. My whole life was a mass of days that blurred together where I got up and took care of everyone. I cooked, cleaned, wiped noses and bums and let everything in my world revolve around my children and their lives. Now don't get me wrong, raising children is wonderful, but there's a point where you can lose yourself in all of it.

Then tragedy struck, first in the form of leukemia and then in heart failure. As I held my father's hand while he took his last breath, I realized I'd let life get away from me. I still had so many things I wanted to say to my dad, and now time had run out.

The next several months I was so lost. Grief, large and unforgiving made me really question what I wanted in life, until slowly I realized there were dreams that I still had. Ones that were not my children's or my husband's, but mine alone. As I reflected on the things I learned from the two men I'd lost, I saw a beautiful gift, a last gift, that they had given me. In giving up their lives, they had helped me find mine.

Slowly I found my passion, and I used their loss to reach deep and write the stories of my heart. So to the man who raised me, and the one who accepted me into his family... Thank You! You each gave me incredible gifts and different gifts and I will always treasure them.
To my father-in-law, thank you for your gentleness and wisdom, and thank you for raising such an incredible son.

To my father, I'm sorry I didn't take the time I should have. It took losing you to realize all the wonderful things you taught me. Thanks for teaching me the way to fix a carburetor and how to find my way anywhere without a map. Thanks for telling me that I could do anything just as good or better than the boys. And thanks for reminding me that being a mother is still as noteworthy as an engineer. I did a thing Dad. I hope you saw. My first book is my love letter to you.

For all of you who've made it this far in my epistleπŸ˜ƒ, don't let time get away from you. Make every moment count. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there, including you mothers who had to fill both roles.

Lastly, Happy Father's Day to my husband. You're everything I could have hoped for for our children.

(The last picture is of the book I dedicated to my dad with the flooring that I laid this last week, because hey girls can do anything)

14/06/2023

Today's book is a favorite of mine. Mischief, Mayhem and Marriage was such a delightful read. I love this book so much I could brag on it all day. My favorite scene from this enemies-to-lovers, marriage-of-convenience tale is the wedding itself. Oh my word, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. The way Rebecca uses her words to paint such a humorous picture astounds me.

But beyond the humor there is also a compelling tale of heartbreak and healing. I fell in love with Taft right along with Alexandrina, perhaps because he reminds me of my own prince charming.

If you want a book that will give you all the feels, this is it. A resounding five stars!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So here is my other announcement. Coming April 21, 2023.
Getting so excited for this.
