The Science Club, in collaboration with the HUMSS CLUB,KAWSA and Math Club, joins STI West Negros University Earth Day 2024 celebration with the theme: "𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻!" at Punta Taytay, Bacolod City, through a 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗽.

As the effects of heat waves and climate change continue to wreak havoc on our planet, it is crucial that we take action now to protect our environment for future generations.

The 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, in collaboration with STI West Negros University 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 and 𝗞𝗔𝗪𝗦𝗔, will be conducting a 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗽 on the 26th of April, 2024.

This event aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our oceans and beaches 🌊, while also providing an opportunity for our students and teachers to come together and make a positive impact. 🤝🏻

Together, we have the power to create positive change and ensure a brighter future for our planet. So let's join hands and work towards a healthier Earth for all living beings. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄. ⏳

Did you know that scientists have found further evidence that dolphins call each other by "name". Research has revealed that the marine mammals use a unique whistle to identify each other. A team from the University of St Andrews in Scotland found that when the animals hear their own call played back to them, they respond.

The wonders of space exploration made us question what creatures have made their voyage outside the Earth’s atmosphere. Well, to satisfy your curiosity, it was a group of 𝒇𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔.

On February 20, 1947, atop the V2 rocket, the earliest living creatures to be transported into space on purpose were fruit flies, even though numerous space missions may have unintentionally brought bacteria and other kinds of life on board. Due to their small size and low weight, the flies were ideal flight companions as they reduced fuel consumption and were easy to store.

Even though the wall is very long, it is also very thin, making it essentially invisible. In fact, no man-made objects are visible from space by the naked eye, according to astronauts. The earth is a very big place and human-sized objects are miniscule by comparison. With the help of zoom lenses, cameras in space can see much finer detail than human eyes.

The Majority of Earth’s Oxygen Is Produced by Oceans Have you ever thought of where oxygen comes from? Most of us believe that we get oxygen from trees but you might not know that more than half of the earth’s oxygen that we breathe comes from oceans.

Various scientists estimate that 50% or more of the earth’s oxygen is produced by the oceans. The majority of this production is from plant-based marine organisms. Oceanic plankton, algae, seaweed, and some bacteria can photosynthesize & produce more than half of the world’s oxygen.
