'One More Out' Premiers TONIGHT!
While you wait.. Here are 5 Behind-the-Scenes Facts about filming my story.
1️⃣ Although I drive by from time to time to remind myself where I came from, I haven't been inside this location in 2 1/2 years.
2️⃣ Filming this video was harder than I thought. It took us several takes but it was worth every minute.
3️⃣ Outside of briefly sharing my story in AA, I’ve only told it to a handful of people.
4️⃣ The hardest part of telling my story was realizing all the things in the abandoned building I laid my head down at night was the exact same as it was the day I left and went to detox.
5️⃣ I feel grateful about telling my story because I know a lot of people can relate to me in some way or another and know if I can get through what I got through anyone can get through whatever addictions they are dealing with.

I don't care how you got sober, if it was God, jail, a 12-Step program, by yourself, a pregnancy, religion, crystals, medicated sobriety or any other way.... you're a miracle! Your courage, bravery, and commitment to getting back up after you fall makes you a God Damn miracle. Keep Chasing Sober!!
You are going to feel a lot of things.
I want you to stay grounded in this fact, regardless of what emotion you are experiencing,
You are safe,
You are Loved,
You will get through this.

So true
Yes!
"Because you didn't want to lose him, you lost yourself in the process. You became a girl who kept being mistreated and you formed a habit of saying "I'm used to it". You became a girl who kept being unappreciated and you begin to tell yourself "it's okay". You became a girl who kept being undervalued and you learned how to say "I'm fine". You became a girl who kept being put last and you naturally reacted with "it's whatever". You became a girl who kept being taken for granted and you dealt with it by repeating "everything's ok". You became a girl who kept being unhappy and you regularly told people "I'm going to be fine".....And if you're reading this right now, then you need to understand that no guy is worth losing yourself for, no guy is worth suffering for at the expense of your happiness! So KILL your old self and focus on YOU!" -Vicki Monique
“Even if we’re wrong, can you think of a better way to live than in gratitude?”

It’s ok if you aren’t creating right now. It’s ok if you’re frozen, depressed, anxious, or lost. It’s ok to not be ok. And it’s ok to just survive for a bit. Here is a little note to remind you of things you have not only survived, but managed to thrive. You are recovery strong! For those of you who are still battling, no judgement. Reach out. We can love you right where you are.

Gratitude. Connect. Get outside. Let go!
“Don’t worry about them regressing in school. Every single kid is in this boat and they all will be ok. When we are all back in the classroom we will all course correct and meet them where they are. Teachers are experts at this! Don’t pick fights with your kids because they don’t want to do math. Don’t scream at your kids for not following the schedule. Don’t mandate 2 hours of learning time if they are resisting it.
If I can leave you with one thing, it is this: at the end of all this your kids’ mental health will be more important than their academic skills. And how they felt during this time will stay with them long after the memory of what they did those 4 or more weeks is long gone. So, keep that in mind every day.” I did NOT write these incredible words- merely shared because I found them perfect for this time.
Today my kids played, painted faces, ran around the yard, danced, sword fought with toy bats, ran around the yard in underwear (might have even peed in the yard), stumbled across a jam fest in the neighborhood, dressed up to eat lunch in the family room, and enjoyed several other wacky unplanned moments. It was imperfect magic that could be viewed as chaos yet it was all our own. How are you spending your moments?
Focus on what is in your hula hoop and let go of the rest.
Here’s to finding new ways to adapt, to grow, to strategize, and continue to move forward. May we find bridges vs barriers. If you are in need of support, someone to talk to or help you brainstorm please reach out. All calls are confidential. (954)232-9951
