Portola Valley. On this project these CA native plants will provide a subtle natural addition for this mix of Oak and Redwoods woodland. Our intention was to create a landscape where it's hard to distinguish what vegetation has been introduced by us, and what has always been there. Still, with a modern twist.

🏡This Portola Valley project comes to an end.
I couldn't have wished for better clients and the amazing team that built it!
I'm going to miss this gem of a garden, modern, simple yet captivating. Tranquil to the eye, with mostly natives and low water use plants. Sustainability is possible even on the most moderns landscapes possible.
One of my favorite designs.💞

🌿When the vision starts taking shape...
Garden revisited after about 6 months and we couldn't be happier, especially when the clients are so ecstatic with their new space!
This front lawn has been transformed into a butterfly, insect and wildlife paradise. The dry creek will serve as a water reservoir for the drier months. Swipe ⬅️ to see the 'Before' pictures!

'Before and After'
🌿Garden revisit. A year has passed and the garden is being lived, loved and growing strong! 💓

A year later, in a Morgan Hill garden.
The hill is now covered with drought tolerant plants which not only protects the soil from the wind and sun but helps the water remain in place for the plants to thrive. Birds, 🦋 butterflies and 🐝 bees were visiting too this new garden!

Can you believe this transformation?!!
Swipe ⬅️ to see this 'Before- After' garden rehab!

Our coients wanted to enjoy their patio observing the colorful plants, growing herbs and harvesting their fruit trees.
We replaced the grass with low water requirements plants. Permeable surfaces will harvest winter water for the plants to use in summer.
Planters and trellises were built reusing wood from the big deck area the garden had before our installation, reducing the waste on site and to the landfill.

Yesterday's late evening photo session. The planters are looking great made with repurposed wood from the original yard. Will be sharing updates soon.

📣New project update! Los Gatos.
Couldn't be happier with how all the amazing little details make this garden stand out.
Privacy fence with seating area next to the house to enjoy the sunset.
The dry creek will slow down the water on this sloped front yard and retain it on site to be available for the plants during the warmer months.
Tons of natives and low water adapted plants to replace the old lifeless lawn.
New lighting to highlight the new trees, dry Creek and new flagstones pathway.
The owners applied for the Valley Water lawn rebate and passed effortlessly with our help. Find out more details by contacting us or book a residential design appointment to discuss your options. [email protected]

Sharing this recent project finished in San Jose.
We renovated the back and front yards on this property looking for a calm, effortless, romantic theme with lots of flow, to sit and enjoy, observing nature during the evenings after a hard day at work.
Plants are still very small but will cover up the space with different hights and widths. A California native hedge will be covering the backyardnand groundcover edible herbs will grow between the flagstones (reused from the existing property = less waste to the landfill!)
The owners also wanted to explore growing food in their back yard so we incorporated these beautiful raised beds for them.

👷‍♀️After install visit update.
3 months have passed for this project in Morgan Hill.

No more lawn on site. Our clients applied for the Valley Water lawn conversion rebate.

The plants are growing well despite having gone through their first summer and filling the space with color and texture.
We used low water use plants and especially those well adapted to slopes and for their good reputation on helping the soil stay on site on hills.

👷‍♀️3 months after installation visit update!
These clients applied for the lawn rebate, but still needed their green space area for their kids.
🌿We did replace a very big area of traditional fescue lawn for this beautiful CA native grass. Couldn't be happier with the results!
🪻We also added some ground cover manzanitas and CA lilacs to cover the mulch and help compete with weeds.

Disneyland adopting a new landscaping vision to reduce water use was a very pleasant surprise!
Here you can see how the lawn and annual planters are being transformed into colorful water efficient designs.

22/09/2023

Pleased to see how slowly some difference is made at
Through the years I've noticed how they are slowly changing their planters to showcase low water perennials instead of colorful annuals and lawn, which has been Disney's traditional landscaping signature.
