I use Red Heart Super Saver yarn which comes in a lot of different colorways to create these dinosaurs and the way the yarn is dyed is what determines the placement/expression of the colors. ❤️🦖

I wanted to crochet more items to do a proper shop drop/restock this month, but I am changing jobs tomorrow/shifting my schedule around, so I’m choosing to take away the pressure of doing a big restock by slowly listing the items I make as I go! ❤️
(I’ve also been working on a new crochet pattern as well and that takes time away from regular shop duties—I think this one is going to be great btw! 🔥😉)

I’m focusing on finding the right balance between work, family, crocheting for fun, and crocheting for business and I think I’m slowly getting there! 🥰 Crocheting brings me joy, but sometimes running a business can take from that joy, so I’m focusing on ways to keep crocheting joyful for me!

How to Order a Choose-Your-Own Color Jumbo Dino! 🦖

At each of my restocks, there will be a listing on my website (link in bio) called, “Choose-Your-Own Color Jumbo Dino (Pre-Order).” There will be ‼️LIMITED SPOTS‼️After purchase, you’ll receive an email with a Google Form that allows you to select the colors for both the body and stripes. (Having you select your colors AFTER checkout allows you to focus on getting a spot, so then you can take your time choosing colors 😊.)

I will ❌NOT❌ be able to accommodate any additional custom requests such as embroidery or additional appendages (like antenna or wings). This is ONLY a Choose-Your-Own Color/Pre-Order Option.

You WILL be able to tell me how you want your stripes including letting me know what color(s) you want each individual stripe to be! 😊

Jumbo Dinos take me about $50 in materials and ~8hrs to make, so I simply cannot take every request or else I’ll be crocheting Jumbo Dinos into old age! 😱 Thank you for understanding why I have to limit spots and make it first-come first-served. 🙇🏻‍♀️

This wasn’t a planned project, but a passion one that I had to do! I started watching Bluey and the show had me laughing hard and feeling so good about the wholesome content. So I simply had to crochet Bluey!!! My free written pattern and YouTube tutorial will be available tomorrow at 5pm MST! I tried a new video editor today and had a really rough time, but I think it was worth it because it is my hope that my video helps make this pattern more accessible to folks! I don’t have a lot of inventory left after the craft fairs, so I’m working on slowly restocking! I’ve finished some uteruses and they’re available on my website!

I thought customers would only want double-sided happy/angry uteruses but it turns out I was wrong-some folks did want happy-only or angry-only, so these options are available! I wouldn’t have found that out if I hadn’t gotten the chance to get out and meet people at a fair! ❤️

I’m so grateful to everyone who visited and purchased from me! It makes me so happy when folks go, “EEE THATS SO CUTE LOOK AT THIS!” I’m so glad I can bring joy to people through crochet! ❤️ I’ve never done the Fort Collins Holiday Gift Festival before, so I didn’t know what to expect! I’m so glad it was fun and lively! :)

I feel so scattered. In 3 days, I’m going to sell at my first craft fair as MerryMakes and it feels like I’m scrambling. I’m a creator so I want to put all my efforts into crocheting, but the reality is that I’m well-stocked for this weekend and the actual tasks that lie in front of me are business-related tasks that I’m doing for the first time. In hindsight, these tasks are relatively “simple.” They’re things like officially registering as a business entity with the state, opening a business bank account, making a cash box, packaging, or applying for temp sales tax licenses. But these sorts of tasks are hard because it’s my first time doing it-I don’t know what I don’t know-and I’m third-guessing everything. And of course, I’ve still got a full-time job and school. 🤣 I’m sure though that I’ve crossed my i’s and dotted my t’s. 😉 I’m grateful for all the help and encouragement you’ve given me! Here’s hoping that my first craft fairs go well!!!

If you’re in Foco, come visit me at the Holiday Gift Festival on Sunday!!! This will be my first time at this fair and I’m so excited for it! I’ve been crocheting like crazy for this! I’ll have my jumbo plushies, the potted plants, sea creatures, foods, and other animals available!

I am SO thrilled to go back to where it all started.

Origin story: My mom taught me how to crochet when I was young. In high school, I learned about amigurumi and was HOOKED. During undergrad I taught knitting/crochet adjuncts and participated in this craft fair as a student. The community artists I met had a huge impact on me. Sharing knowledge with other crocheters/knitters made me feel like I was part of a super cool, exclusive hero league. And the feeling of seeing my work bring such joy to people is why I keep crocheting and why I started MerryMakes this year. I wasn’t sure this craft fair would come back this year, but I’m sure glad it did and I hope you’ll come visit me!!!
