A resolution was adopted which recognised happiness as a fundamental human goal, and March 20 has been established as the annual International Day of Happiness.

This year's theme is "Be Mindful. Be Grateful. Be Kind".

๐Ÿ“Œ Here are some interesting findings on happiness:

- Self-acceptance is strongly related to life satisfaction and affect (Ryff, 1989).
- Happiness is more dependent on our reaction to reality (e.g., accepting it versus denying it) than the actual objective reality (Brickman et al., 1978).
- Being grateful for what we haveโ€”even if itโ€™s not as much as we wantโ€”makes us happier (Emmons & McCullough, 2003).
- Thereโ€™s a positive relationship between the number of kind acts and the level of happiness someone experiences (Rowland & Curry, 2019)
