A 6 year work in progress which has been great fun to make so not sure why I kept putting it down over these six years! Now framed and one bad photo taken. When the sun comes out so the light is right and there's no shadow of me taking a photo I'll be a happy needle felter.
Haven't added anything to my shop for ages but it's not because I've not been busy behind the scenes. So I've just added these pastel coloured, super soft velour pumpkins.

Mardies sew and sews - one to share with Mike.
56 vehicles were stopped during a road safety operation on the A74(M) at Gretna Services on Monday, 24 June, 2024.
Between 8am and 2pm, Road Policing Officers were assisted by a range of partner agencies including SEPA, HMRC and DVSA to ensure road worthiness of the vehicles who use this busy route.
Five people will be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal for road traffic offences.
Ten prohibition notices were issued for defects. Seven of these were immediate notices which stop the vehicle being used until the issues are rectified.
Among the other offences detected were:
• Driver hours offences
• Overweight vehicles, one being 40% over its maximum gross weight.
• Advisory and warning notices issued
• Insurance offences.
Constable Christopher Wightman said: “Road safety is a priority for us and these successful operations where we work alongside our partner agencies highlight our commitment to addressing this issue. We will continue to carry out regular patrols on the A74(M) and take enforcement action when necessary.”

Folksy
❓What is Folksy❓ It is a UK online craft shop. You can browse and purchase gifts and household items - all beautifully handmade by genuine British crafters.
❌Folksy most certainly isn't ETSY or EBAY! No vintage or mass-produced items are permitted!❌
Folksy was founded in 2008 and is based in Sheffield. There are now 13,000 crafters listing their unique makes on the site - I'm one of them 😉
I invite you to visit Folksy and be amazed by the variety and quality of the items you'll find - everything from handmade jewellery, bags, home furnishings, cards and stationery, original art, pottery, quilts 😁, woven, knitted or crocheted clothing. It is wonderful 🤩

Be careful. These people just don't give up.
Our Trading Standards team is aware of households in the region receiving potentially misleading letters regarding energy saving home improvements. Improvements on offer include things like insulation, heating upgrades and new boilers. Some of these letters reference Dumfries and Galloway Council and other government agencies, and they may refer to ‘ECO funding’.
Many of these companies are ‘lead generators’ who will then sell householders details on to installation companies for hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
We urge householders to be wary of any unsolicited letters, phone calls or door callers offering energy saving improvements, and to do their research before agreeing to any work. If you are considering energy-saving home improvements, please contact Home Energy Scotland for advice: https://orlo.uk/IksyG
Only traders on our list of accredited installers can access ECO funding. The list of accredited installers can be found here: https://orlo.uk/HsQHC
Let's see if any of the manufacturers will bring this back.

You should receive an email from AI Meta letting you know that this is going to happen regardless if you don't Op-Out. Now that in itself is a palaver as the link on their email doesn't take you to their form. So I had to take a photo of their email, then I went to
https://www.geekiest.net/post/How-to-Object-to-Metas-AI-Data-Usage-A-Guide-to-Opting-Out (ignore the ads) and there I found a link that did work. A million and one questions.
Use the photograph of their email and attach it - you need to prove that you've experienced Meta AI capturing data. The photo of their email did it for me.
But hey presto it's worked for me on Instagram.

There's works on the A737 at Risk Brae, south of Howwood - the road WON'T be closed, however, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place which may add to journey times. If you'd prefer to come by a route that avoids the A737 we have some alternative directions we previously provided when the A737 was closed.
