God's in the house. Got two more to put on the to do list, first is Athena, the Goddes of wisdom and war. Then we have the big daddy Zeus God of the sky and thunder. Both kits are ARH statues in kit form that I was lucky to get from Dave Britton. All pieces are very well casted in a very nice white resin. Typical filling and prep work for both and extra measures will be taken to reinforce both pieces with heavy pins.
Mount Olympus is getting bigger everyone.

I've got the Cerberus kit that is the 2nd kit going into the diorama. This bad dog is huge and heavy!! ( around 30pounds of cold cast porcelain) luckily most of that weight is in the solid cast base. The figure itself is still pretty hefty but it is cast semi solid. ( thank goodness) All parts are as cleanly cast as the Persephone kit and just as well engineered with the inclusion this time with magnets all ready built into the larger parts. Each head can be attached securely with the powerful magnet sets precasted into place. Kind of Kool that I'll be able to take the heads off when finished. The tail also has a magnet set in place and can be detached in the same way as the heads. The open mouthed heads have complete sets of dentures and tungs and all can be painted seperatly. The closed mouth has a separate jaw and tung with the teeth attached. It presents a different challenge in that the inside of the mouth will be visible through the teeth so it will have to be painted on the inside before it is set in place with glue. Then puttied and sanded and then the outside of the head can be painted. ( a challenge to do but totally doable.) Over all I am very impressed with this kit. The sculpt is done very realistically with a leathery like texture that can be painted in a multitude of ways. The 3 heads are very viscous looking and detailed incredibly well. Extra care should be taken when detailing the mouths as stated above. An exceptional piece whether your in it for all three pieces or you just fancy getting the dog by himself. High quality highly recommended.

Possible upcomimg projects in 2020. I am currently securing The Athena kit from ARH collectibles. I am liking a few more of their Greek mythology and Egyptian pieces. Zeus will be the next kit I am definitely getting then possibly I will see into their Cleopatra in kit form. Hopefully if all goes according to schedule Hates will be next after Athena arrives. As mentioned in a previous post I am looking to have a central focus in the upcoming year. I have an end goal to have a display worthy of the gods.

Some inspiration for the model build. Initally I was planning on doing her toga dress in a transparent black. But later opted for a color more closer to the color of pomegranate. For it was her eating of the 7 seeds from the fruit that sealed her fate in the Underworld. Of course there was a compromise with Hades as he let her join with her mother for 6 months of the year.
