Green walls … essential philosophy in the process of designing a wellness home …

Designing a bespoke kitchen is an art. It’s not important to everyone though. But for most of us we like things exactly where and how we like them and we want to upgrade our lifestyle with it. This entails better floor layout, ergonomical flow, plenty of work surface, well thought through storage solutions for all that healthier food! At SEIJAKU we do just that! 15years of experience in designing bespoke kitchens and joinery we spend time with you putting together a layout thoughtfully, we thoroughly pick materials and colours to suit your home and your families personality. This kitchen, for example in Balham, South London, is a gem. Busy young family with 2 boys needed a lot of storage and areas to hide the clutter. We absolutely love the ‘pocket door’ solutions - for anything really! Kitchen breakfast areas, hidden drink bars, pantry storage…

Some homes are simply not blessed with a wonderful garden, or terrace or even a teeny weeny balcony! Some, do not even have direct sunlight! Have you ever thought of an indoor garden, an orangery, a room wall, or a real growing tree in your home? When I visited this astonishing home in London years ago I have been taken by it’s indoor garden design. This inspires me to dream that it is possible to do so anywhere. In fact I am designing one into our wellness home project, one slightly different in style as architecture dictates, one that creates that teeny weeny sense of being outdoors, breathing fresh plant-purified air. A retreat. Place to connect.

👋 guys! It’s been a while again! But I have been busy working on wellness bathrooms recently. My research has led me to realise that even luxury bathrooms lack a good thought-through process on wellness. Perhaps it still feels that having a steam shower in your own home is too expensive or perhaps the contractors/designers simply don’t explore this with clients enough to realise this… It may be that a steam shower may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but how about oval bath, or spa-like rain shower or ambient lighting for tranquility may have the wellness effect for you… Share your ideas of what would your wellness bathroom look like?

Pebble Love. Todays inspiration: a tap bathroom “Équilibrio” by Gessi! Truly biophilic experience. Nature in. Heavy, organic, comes in different finishes such as meta, rock and wood… I hope soon to use one of these beauties in projects to come…

Home should be your retreat… I adore Bolia’s designs and philosophy, these align beautifully with what S E I J A K U is all about… I leave you with the translation of the quote for the weekend, let me know if it resonates with you… .
“Listen to the silence. Silence before noise. Between the present moment and the after. A place where you can relax. Recreate one by leaving the world behind. Connection with nature. A moment of tranquility. By allowing yourself to be exactly who you are, to live the way you want to be, and to love who you want to love. Welcome to a constantly evolving, changing and free world.”

Happy Saturday! My day started visiting a gorgeous showroom inspired by nature… I am exploring a colour mood today. Moss green - yes or no for you?

As they say, devil is in the detail! This is so absolutely true! When choosing the materials in the house we shall not only look into what’s aesthetically pleasing, but also how it makes you feel. When I saw this basin all I wanted is - touch it. It’s raw, organic, minimalist design, hand made in clay - feels grounding, natural colour is calming. And that’s what matters - design for the senses. How does your bathroom basin makes you feel? design
