June 24th
Back To The Drawing Board
I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 11:19, NIV

Ever wonder why it's not good enough that we become an improved creation...why simply fixing the 'old' us doesn't work? According to the Word of God, we are to be totally transformed. I found Charles Spurgeon's conclusions about this transformation to be quite clear and profound.

Notice that God doesn't promise to remodel our nature or to mend our broken hearts. No, the promise is that He will give us new hearts and right spirits. Human nature is too far gone to ever be mended. It isn't a house that is a little out of repair, with an occasional shingle missing from the roof and a little plaster broken from the ceiling. No, it's rotten throughout, every single timber has been eaten by the worm, from the roof to the foundation. There is no soundness, it is ready to fall.
God will not attempt to mend by repairing the walls and repainting the door. He will build a new one. If it was only a little out of repair, it might be mended, but it's too far gone. Concerning man's depravity, the whole head is sick and the whole heart is faint. From the sole of the foot to the crown of the head, it is all wounds, bruises and festering sores. The Lord, therefore, does not attempt the repairing of this thing. Instead He says, "I will give you a new heart, and a right spirit will I put within you. I will take away the heart of stone, I will not try to soften it, and I will let it be as stony as it ever was. But I will take it away, and I will give you a new heart, and it shall be a heart of flesh.

Fireproofing 102.6: If you are flammable even a close proximity to heat can ignite you.
Wouldn’t it be better to be easily ignited by the slightest change in temperature of God’s manifest presence, than to require God to bring excessive heat before you even notice He is at work in your midst?

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8

The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. Isaiah 29:13

Fireproofing 102.5: Fire is transferable and generational... it is passed on. We have a responsibility to pass the torch before concluding our days on this earth. If the next generation does not inherit our zeal for the things of God, they will substitute it with worldly pursuits.

Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” Ecclesiastes 12:1

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14-15

23/02/2021

Fireproofing 102.4: Immunity to hellfire is necessary to pull others out of it. Otherwise you will be pulled into it like a moth to a flame. We must condition ourselves to despise even the smell of hellish carnality.

save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. Jude 1:23

They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. Daniel 3:27

22/02/2021

Fireproofing 102.3: if you can’t take the heat... perhaps you should flee. Hell fire has an allure that has caused the ruin of millions. No one is impressed, certainly not God, with how long you can tolerate temptation. Rather, it would behoove you to follow His instruction and avoid it wheneverpossible.

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. 2 Timothy 2:22

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one
Matthew 6:13

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Fireproofing 102.2: Sometimes God is not in the fire whatsoever. We can become fire addicts, underwhelmed by anything other than His burning presence. Fire is only one of His manifestations. It does not represent the sum of who He is. Be still, and listen. Some of His greatest mysteries are revealed in His whisper.

He says, "Be still, and know that I am God... Psalm 46:10

And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12

Congratulations you graduated to the next level!
Fireproofing 102: Fire itself is a thermal energy source. Harnessed it has thousands of valuable uses. It is the nature of the user to determine the nature of the fire. God has placed the ingredients for revival in our hands. It is us to decide how that is used.

Don't put out the Spirit's fire. 1Thess. 5:19 GWT

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 2 Timothy 1:6

Fireproofing 101.9: The baptism of fire is the most painful baptism of all. It demands the one thing we don't want to see consumed...
...our pride.

I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!
Luke 12:49-50

I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Matthew 3:11

12/02/2021

Fireproofing 101.8: Sometimes the fire is so hot in our lives it feels like all that is left of us ashes... nothing salvageable. And yet it was from such that we came into being, meaning it is not the flesh that sustains us, but the breath of Alrighty God. And He barters for ashes!

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;”
Isaiah 61:3

11/02/2021

Fireproofing 101.7: Fire has three basic components: fuel, heat, and oxygen.
Revival fire is the same, it requires:
the oil of gladness (thanksgiving and service),
a fiery zeal for God and all that He loves (piety and love),
and the breath of the Spirit (prayer and repentance).

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"
Matthew 22:37-39

10/02/2021

Fireproofing 101.6: There are fires in this world that can consume you and leave you void of life and and as fragile as ashes. The consuming fire of God leaves you refined, improved and joyfully contagious. Share God's holy fire and shun the fires of hell.

for our "God is a consuming fire."
Hebrews 12:29

But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire...
Malachi 3:2

09/02/2021

Fireproofing 101.5: Burnout results when you are involved in a work that you are not (or no longer) anointed to accomplish. God is not obligated to anoint you to do what He has not asked you to do. Your oil is precious and sacred, burn it wisely and precisely.

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.

Luke 10:41-42
And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability;... Matthew 25:15

09/02/2021

Fireproofing 101.4: You don’t have extinguish every fire in your life. Some things God wants you let burn until they burns themselves out. Knowing which is which requires mature discernment.

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Fireproofing 101:
The Lord may send the fire, but we provide the fuel. Perhaps asking God for a bonfire when you struggle to keep your candle lit is a bit unrealistic. There is a reason the scriptures often equate our Christian walk with a lamp. It is better to have a fire that can be carried through the darkness than one that forces you to be stationary.

Trim your wicks and fill your jars with anticipation, the bridegroom cometh!

27/01/2021

Fireproofing 101.2:
How often it seems that a fiery passion is quenched on contact with the water of the word. We must be careful not to confuse superficial fervency for Godly zeal. Man’s pursuits are like a v***r, but the word of the Lord endures forever.

A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back. Proverbs 29:11

27/01/2021

Fireproofing 101.3:
Tongues of fire can ignite the heaven or the hell in others. It all depends on what fuel you have in the vessel.
..for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:6
