Fresh from their performance at Manchester Jazz Festival we have The Deportees.
A group who's unending ambition to strive for more pushes them into new musical spaces.
I would definitely recommend their debut album 'What Session' recorded at fine jazz music that is inventive and playful, a sumptuous listen.

This week at Baltic Jazz the insatiable Bob Whittaker 4tet takes the stage. Get ready for a serious jazz work out as we invite some of the finest players around to show us what they've been working on for year upon year. Building that language, and through knowledge finding freedom.

Next up we have the funk and jazz fusion style of the enigmatic and cool band SLYE.
Watch out for these! They'll come at you so fast with a groove you'll think it's 1976.

So this week we had the Alex McDowall Quintet. However due to an unforeseen musician injury to Alex's pointing finger or bar chord digit, we've had to draft in a replacement. Alex has basically put together a Liverpool jazz supergroup for the night. With Martin Smith on Trumpet, Tony Ormesher on guitar, Eric Animan on the sax, Hugo on bass and Viktor Nordberg on drums. Please tag the musicians if you know them.
It's going to be a special one for the serious jazz heads. get down.

They are one of Liverpool's premier Jazz groups, with an early 20th century style that evokes speakeasy vibes, they will make you feel warm all over and get you moving.
