🎊👏🏽🎉Big congratulations to Liam-Javon and Laila-Marie on a JOB WELL DONE! As this is their first year in high school and having to adjust to the environment of a new school, I am PROUD. They have both worked hard, kept a positive attitude and maintained EXCELLENT grades.

Laila-Marie was awarded the Momentum Award. This award is given to two students in each class who demonstrate the characteristics of great learning, such as curiosity, diligence, hard work, enthusiasm and a growth mindset.

She was also awarded the Spirit and Sportsmanship Award. This Award is given to the student for their strong athletic performance, consistent participation, team spirit and great sportsmanship.

Liam-Javon received the Citizenship Award given to two students in each class who embody the high-character attributes of Windsor School, such as a positive attitude, helpfulness, kindness and respect.

Congrats to all of their classmates on a job well done!

‘Empowered Women Empower Women’ was the theme of a Women’s Empowerment Luncheon hosted by Iyandra Smith Bryan & Deidree Bain-Toote.

The message of “empowered women empower women” is a powerful reminder of the importance of women supporting and uplifting each other. It signifies that when women are empowered and confident in their own abilities, they are able to help others achieve the same. By offering support, encouragement, and mentorship, empowered women can create a positive ripple effect that uplifts and inspires others.

This message encourages women to recognize their own strength and potential, while also promoting solidarity and collaboration among women to create a more empowered and inclusive society.

Iyandra we celebrate you for your many accomplishments. The most recent award was the 40 Under 40 Award in the category, “Private Markets” by the United Kingdom Black Women In Asset Management. Big congratulations to Ms Ka’Leeah Bevans, A.A for her degree in Associates of Arts in Law and Criminal Justice Studies from The University of The Bahamas.

Her Educational career began at St. Augustine’s College; graduated June 2022, obtaining a high school diploma with honors. She then moved on to the University of the Bahamas; August 2022- current with consecutive placement on the Dean’s List; cumulative GPA of 3.49.

Ms Bevans is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), member of the Rho Upsilon Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Fall 2023 initiate and held the position of General Secretary. Ms Bevans received an academic excellence award from the organization in recognition of maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.49.

On Friday, May 31, Honorable A. Loftus Roker, a distinguished Bahamian statesman and former Minister of National Security was laid to rest.

It was truly an honor to serve as a Parliamentary Pall Bearer for one our national heroes and humbled to have walked beside his casket to its final resting place🇧🇸.

As one of the signatories of The Bahamas’ Constitution, Loftus Roker’s dedication to the principles of democracy and governance has left an indelible mark on our collective identity. His steadfast commitment to nation-building and tireless advocacy for the rights of all Bahamians will be remembered and cherished for generations to come.

Spending time with the residents in the Sea Breeze community is a humbling experience. They have so much wisdom and stories to share.

My team and I enjoyed speaking with noted Bahamian musician and “songbird” Mrs. JoAnn Callender as she shared her stories of Mr Timothy Gibson, one of our national heroes 🇧🇸. I was able to hold his precious diaries and read a few of his handwritten stories. Mr Gibson was a brilliant writer, a gent filled with a wealth of wisdom of our beautiful Bahamaland.

Thank you Ms Callender for blessing me with your book, ‘Breastless Beauty’, I’m excited to dive into it!

On May 18th, Taylor graduated from the illustrious Morgan State University as Valedictorian with her B.S. in Actuarial Science with a minor in Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude with one Actuarial Exam passed!

Taylor is extremely grateful to her parents, family, and friends for the tremendous support and love they’ve shown throughout her journey. Most of all, she thank God for His guidance and protection during her university adventure.

Taylor says, “I can’t wait to see where He takes me next!”

It was truly an exciting day in Sea Breeze as Team LB partnered with the Department of Labour to host Labour on the Block 2.0 in our community, Saturday May 11th, 2024.

Our communities are stronger when our people have the opportunities they need to take care of themselves and their families and live a good life. Our communities are safer when people are gainfully employed, constructively using their time and talents.

Community Engagement is important to me and we hope that by hosting this job fair demonstrated a commitment to supporting the local community and economy by bridging the gap between job seekers and employers.

According to The Department of Labour “there were 465 applicants, 390 second interviews and 8 signed contracts on the spot from Aetos. Over the next two to three weeks we will follow up with our various companies to finalize the total amount of applicants hired”.

A special thank you to the Department of Labour for making this happen! Mrs. Simone Thurston, you and your officers exhibited the highest level of professionalism as we collaborated on this fantastic event, an empowering opportunity in Sea Breeze.

Starting the week off right with a little extra love for my amazing MCM, my brother Jaydian Miller. Your strength, resilience, kindness, all-around amazingness and unwavering positivity never fail to inspire me and those around you.

Jaydian graduated this weekend from Barry University with a Master of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with a 4.00 GPA 🎓. Jaydian is a mentor, an educator, a Leadership & Management Trainer and holds certifications as a Personal Trainer, Weight Management Specialist, Strength & Conditioning Specialist, USA Track & Field Coach and USA Basketball Gold Coach.

His business J Miller & Company has developed many student-athletes locally and internationally with Sports Performance Training to improve their athletic performance and Highlight & Scouting Services to help them to receive collegiate athletic scholarships so they can play the sport they love at the next level while earning their degree. He’s also been able to obtain collegiate athletic scholarships for Bahamian student-athletes to study abroad.

Jaydian your impact is truly remarkable and I’m grateful to know someone as inspiring as you. Be encouraged and keep shining your light, you’re AWESOME!

From birth to now, you’ve been MORE to me than I could ever ask for. Thank you for believing in me more than I believed in myself. Thank you for doing for me more than I could ever do for myself. Thank you for the many sacrifices you’ve made, none of them went unnoticed. Thank you for praying for me, more than I will ever know. Thank you for instilling in me manners, respect, love and compassion for others. Thank you for all of the life lessons that’s molded me into the person I am today.
