The key to hitting and keeping your splits is consistency. 👌 A little bit daily always works better than trying to train everything in one day. And remember to always warm up properly before attempting 💥

Practice consistently and be patient and you will succeed 💪 It’s so easy to give up when you don’t get things right away. Try to focus on your progress and practice and you would be surprised what you can achieve. Don’t give up on yourself, keep going always ⚡️

⚡️Day 6 - Any animal that lives in the ocean - Dolphin pose⚡️

Ive been practicing this one for awhile as apart of my training for pincha ~~ Going into dolphin and then walking the feet up as far as you can, coming more onto the forearms and then practice lifting each leg one at a time 🙌

⚡️Day 5 - Any animal that lives on land - Camel Pose (Ushtrasana)⚡️

I was a day behind, so you get two today 😜

Asana is defined in Patanjali Yoga Sutra as sthira sukham asanam, which can be translated as being stable, comfortable and happy in the pose, and I definitely feel that way in Camel Pose 💗 but I always notice I tend to hold my breathe in the pose ~ remember to breathe and bring awareness to the breathe during your asana practice ✌️

Do you feel stuck in your asana practice? Do you want to master challenging asanas like headstands, arm balances, back bends and balancing poses? 🤸‍♀️

For so many years I couldn’t excel past a certain point with more challenging asanas like arm balances and headstands. We all have are strengths and weaknesses. Flexibility has always been naturally easy for me. I’ve been doing splits and back bends my whole life with little effort, but performing asanas like headstand and arm balances REALLY had me STUCK. I wasn’t progressing and I couldn’t figure out why. I thought it was just me. 👀🤦‍♀️

What helped me move past this point? ✨Learning proper alignment, technique and strength training from experienced teachers✨

Even if your practicing a lot, but you’re not practicing the right technique it’s going to be very hard for you to move forward and it feels very discouraging. I always thought I could learn everything on my own, but when I finally decided to seek guidance from teachers my progress started immediately. I realized quickly that having someone teach you the HOW makes a world of difference. 🥀 And it’s such an amazing feeling when you can finally get it! 👁💪

So what can you do? First of all don’t give up! You need a teacher to show you the right steps to get to your goals. After you learn how to properly go into the pose and what strength training you can do to condition, you WILL be able to do it! 🦋

Gentle & relaxing time for my body ✨🥀

Tomorrows class will be exploring the more gentle side of yoga 🧘‍♀️ after a vigorous last class and honestly a physically strenuous week for me working in the garden 🌱💪.

Taking the time to be gentle with myself and with life in general is something I’ve always struggled with, but I find yoga such a nice way to incorporate more gentle self care into life. I’m sure we can all use a little TLC. 🦄

After a more slow asana practice, we will finish with a nice long breathing technique to really get lost inside the universe of ourselves 👁😜. See you there ✌️

This Week in our Yoga Space 🤸‍♀️
Week of 04 April 2022
 
It’s the first week of April and the energy really feels more fiery 🔥. Not only is it getting warmer with more life outside we’re in Aries season ♈️ (a fire sign) and we just had a new moon in Aries. It’s really been a time to be more active in our lives about what we want and need⚡️. Don’t overthink things just get started! Now let’s take a look at what’s going on in our yoga space…🕉
 
✨Wrapping up last week✨
Last week we had a very nice sequence using different padmasana 🧘‍♀️ postures – more challenging than you might think! We also used pranayama to help balance ☯️ the right (pingala) and left (ida) side of your energy (nadis).

Did you know when your left nostril is blowing more strong you will feel more calm and receptive 👁 and when your right nostril is more strong you will feel more active and alert 💪. We can use different breathing techniques to manipulate the breath and change our active and receptive energy! Put your finger under your nose and breathe strong, which side is more powerful?
 
✨Coming up this week✨
We will be discussing the last quality of the five qualities of yogis – surrender🥀. The important but sometimes daunting task of letting go. You will also be guided through Bhramari pranayama, a simple but amazing mental relaxation. In asana class we will be practicing more advanced balancing techniques and working on strength and flexibility of the back.
