Taíno-Inspired Hexagon Carey Bagua and Cosmic Colors

❤️Taino Indigenous Guanin Pendant Amulets❤️
The indigenous people of the Caribbean referred to an alloy of gold, silver, and copper as “Guanín.” This alloy was often crafted into necklaces or pendants for the Cacique (chief).
Inspired by this tradition, we have recreated this piece on a smaller scale.

They are molded to represent the symbol of Guanin, as traditionally depicted by our ancestors, who combined and hammered these metals together.

Set of 4 Cemis (Zemis). These are our own interpretation of the Supreme Deities made completely out of polimer clay, painted with acrylic paints and sealed for protection.
With every piece and sculpture we honor our ancestors, thanking them for allowing us get the inspiration and interpretation on each piece. All sets might be lighter or darker in color, giving an unique set each time.
The Zemis are:
*Atabey (Supreme goddess of the Taínos one of two supreme deities in the Taíno religion)
*Diosa Luna/Karaya (Goddess of the moon)
*Behique (Priest and healer among the Taíno Indians)
*Yucahú (Masculine spirit of fertility in Taíno mythology)
Guataubá and Coatrisquie Cemis:
Measurements: Between 9.5 cm and 10 cm each
Material: Polymer Clay (Faux Stone Look)
Perfect for those looking to help other reconnect with our indigenous Taino roots. These two cemies come as a set, with each representing the two deities that always came with Guabancex during storms.
Our ancestors explained that when the deity Guabancex manifested, she always arrived accompanied by two other cemies who were male, called Coatrisquie and Guataubá. Some of the rituals based on these two deities was to wrap with cotton twine the deity to either stop the flowing waters (Guataubá) during a storm or ask for flowing water during a drought (Coatrisquie).
Coatrisquie is the one that controls the waters of torrential precipitation that fall in catastrophic form and flood the land. The deity was in charge of the waters irrepressible that destroyed everything, provoking the fury of the currents that flooded valleys and sown fields, bringing deaths and illness.
Guataubá was the herald who announced the arrival of Gabancex, also was the town crier who, with clouds, thunder and lightning, announced to the deities and mortals the imminence of a storm. This cemi was depicted with tears on the face representing the heavy dew.

Guataubá y Coatrisquie Cemis:
Medidas: entre 9,5 y 10 cm cada uno.
Material: Arcilla polimérica (aspecto de piedra sintética)
Perfecto para aquellos que buscan ayudar a otros a reconectarse con nuestras raíces indígenas taínas. Estos dos cemies vienen como un conjunto, cada uno de los cuales representa a las dos deidades que siempre venían con Guabancex durante las tormentas.
Nuestros antepasados explicaron que cuando la deidad Guabancex se manifestó, siempre llegaba acompañada de otros dos cemies que eran hombres, llamados Coatrisquie y Guataubá. Algunos de los rituales basados en estas dos deidades fueron envolver con cordel de algodón a la deidad para detener las aguas que fluyen (Guataubá) durante una tormenta o pedir agua que fluye durante una sequía (Coatrisquie).
Coatrisquie es el que controla las aguas de precipitaciones torrenciales que caen en forma catastrófica e inundan la tierra. La deidad estaba a cargo de las aguas irreprimibles que lo destruyeron todo, provocando la furia de las corrientes que inundaron los valles y los campos sembrados, trayendo muertes y enfermedades.
Guataubá fue el heraldo que anunció la llegada de Gabancex, también fue el pregonero de la ciudad que, con nubes, truenos y relámpagos, anunció a las deidades y mortales la inminencia de una tormenta. Este cemi fue representado con lágrimas en la cara que representaban el fuerte rocío.
