We are the Madison County Carer Tech Team 2. But you can call us the DIAMONDS ๏ฟฝ!
We are in the EXCITE competition, and we are so happy to share our journey with you!
On November 8th, we prepared for our 3rd ACE Event with Fresh Slate. They prepared a lemon-lime ice cream base for our dry ice experiment the next day. ๐
On November 9th, we performed the Below Freezing experiment with Fresh Slate at Madison County Career Tech Center. We used dry ice to test the effects of extreme temperature on organic and inorganic materials. Afterwards, we made lemon-lime dry ice ice cream! It tasted like key lime pie! Thank you Fresh Slate for sharing this learning experience with you all! ๐๐จ
We have some funny moments and bloopers of our Outreach team preparing for ACE Events. We have had lots of fun, sometimes too much fun, and try to bring life to our work! We are always laughing and joking around with each other!๐คช๐
In this video, John Hill and Ryan explain in detail the final design of our CubeSat. They have faced lots of challenges, but they have triumphed nonetheless! Great job guys!๐๐
Our science members John Michael and Jonathan are here to tell you guys about our science objective, how they chose it, and some pros and cons they are combatting. Go Team!๐
Manufacturing members John Hill and Ryan have come to tell you all about CAD modeling and how they used it to design our CubeSat!๐
Here is an updated version of our CubeSat. Our manufacturing team has added on our 3D printed solar panels. The solar panels read โMCCTC DIAMONDS.โ The model still needs to be touched up, but this is more or less our final design! Great job team!
Our participants had lots of fun and learned about EXCITE and the SAA! The 3D printed cube-ish prizes were printed by Team 2 themselves. The next day people were still amazed and interested in our prizes! ๐
On November 18th, we held a trivia day for our 4th ACE Event. Academies from our school, such as Precision Machining, Cosmetology, and Medical, participated in trivia. There were prizes and snacks available for the winners. โโโโ
Just a few of our favorite photos from this entire experience! Thank you Madison County Virtual Academy for letting us come share this experience with you guys!๐ฐ๐ค
Preparations for Wednesdayโs ACE Event! Stay tuned more coming tomorrow!๐๐ฅ
Check out our Manufacturing Teamโs hard work with our CubeSat 3D print! Inside is the two computers, the dosimeter, and the trays to hold all of the components.
These are pictures from our first ACE event. The students had a lot of fun! They learned about electric charges and pushing/pulling water.
In the photos, our CAD team has started to print our dosimeter for the CubeSat. A dosimeter detects high energy particles, radiation, which is commonly found in the South Atlantic Anomaly. ๐ฐ
Tune in Monday for our very first ACE Event! Where we will be showing the 6th graders how negative and positive charges work with each other!
Our Science teamโs objective post! Our team has been working diligently, and it has been more than rewarding!๐ฐ
Here is a brief explanation of the EXCITE program and our mission as competitors. A CubeSat example is provided on the second slide.๐ฐ
Our CAD/Manufacturing Team has been doing an excellent job calibrating the 3D printer this week! They have even started to 3D print some test runs! Shoutout to Carter, Ryan, and John Hill for the outstanding work!๐๐ฐ
Meet the 2021 MCCTC team for the UAH Excite program!๐คSubscribe to follow our journey!
