Back at it…slowly but surely. I haven’t really picked up a pencil in a few months, but it’s finally time now. Excited to start creating for ME. All I’ll say is, changes in mental/emotional health can be wild. Rebuilding and revamping what I consider necessary tools and supplies I need/want (the uncomfortable headlamp is temporary, thank god)…and really focusing on what makes me happy…drawing/painting/writing the things that make my heart smile. Stay tuned. I don’t know what this process is gonna look/be like as I go, but that’s what makes it so damn exciting. 💜

I was gonna do a 4 hour drawing challenge to get me ready for next week’s commissions…but, I love the Last Podcast on the Left fellas too much (especially Ben ‘The Truth’ Kissel, duh) …so, I’m turning it into an 8 hour drawing challenge instead.

“…corridors to one day…”

After about 9 hours of digging deep into my heart and my mind while letting my “creative” soundtrack in my noise cancelling headphones lead the way…I created something I’m really happy with. I’ve never attempted anything abstract/mixed media. While I can see what’s in my heart, I wonder what other people see/feel when they look at this “trio” piece.

This isn’t anything I’ll be selling or making prints of…but, I wanted to share because while it’s different, it’s my favorite thing I have ever done…simply because it’s just my heart/mind in this moment…and vulnerability can be a beautiful thing.

Trying to get out of the slump I’m in…stepped away from what I NEED to do, and just doing what I want. 💜

I was gonna make this a surprise for the judges, but I’m too impatient!

Soooo…I was gonna keep it a secret…but, it’s too exciting!

I’m doing some writings and paintings and whatnot for a book. My book. My goal is to have a book with my poetry and some art published by the end of the year. Lofty goal? Yeppers. But, I’m ready for the self-created challenge! It’s been a life long dream to do this…so, here I go!! Sometimes you just find the motivation and inspiration in life to do the dang thing.

This painting parallels a writing I did called “pitter patter”.

Edit: now that it’s not 2:30am and I’m really looking at this…I’m nowhere near done with the watercolor like i thought I might be…his nose isn’t done, his mouth and chin are kinda wonky and I need more appropriate shading…but, it’s a good start! Not upset about it though…trusting the process…💜
