Let's talk about Non scale victories.

Rather than focus on scale weight I like to look at non scale victories. These are important to keep you going when the scales are not showing your hard work but these victories are often so much more. Some of my clients non scale victories this week are:

* Going for a walk with her husband instead of both sitting on the sofa on their phones.

* More energy and less breathless

* Thinking about moving more, parking further away in car parks, she put the basket of washing at the end of her garden and walked to get one piece at a time. Love this one. Actively thinking about it more.

*More productive at work and less stressed.

*Eating well and making right decades for her goals without impacting her social gatherings

When you come on holiday and find a gym at the holiday park. 😁 No friends are safe if I find a gym. Great workout this morning before a walk along the ⛱️

Love training my clients and seeing the progress they make. This lady has done so well. We started just sitting up and down on a bench and now she's lifting a 20kg Olympic barπŸ’ͺ🏻
Not only had she been consistent, she is seeing weekly progress by doing this, she is:

*Walking daily
*More energy
*Better mindset
* Sense of achievement
*Enjoying exercise at her own pace.
*Better nutrition incorporating healthy habits

Some downtime from work, one of the most crazy experiences at the o2 watching . My sister was spotted by having a great time dancing along to his set . We got to visit him back stage. Was unreal and what a lovely man. Which we all know anyway.

No weight loss this week?

If fat loss is your goal and you have worked hard this week. Lack of movement on the scales can be very disheartening and you can feel like you're making lots of effort but not seeing results.

Sadly you have to be patient.
Consistency over perfection!

Some reasons for no fat loss could be simply-

Hormones- water retention, menopause.

Simply you need a good πŸ’©

You may not be tracking accurately- that odd sugar or oil adds up.

Your simply not moving enough.

Carbs- I'm not against carbs at all I love them! it's just means carbs require water to be stored so makes you appear heavier. It's not FAT!

Stress- The body is very clever and if you're in a state of stress your body holds onto the fat instead of releasing it from your fat stores.

Lack of sleep is a huge factor.

Drinking to much alcohol.

Weight loss isn't a linear process. it's common to hit a plateau. Weight fluctuates daily, it will always go up and down and that's completely normal.

With my clients I like them not to have a weight goal but to look at other ways to measure fat loss.

Limiting beliefs

Limiting beliefs are thoughts or opinions that you believe to be true, but these thoughts tend to hold you back from achieving your goals.

A lot of people who make a change have sometimes set themselves up to fail.

Image how many times have you said to yourself.
I want to lose weight but I know I can't do it, I've failed every time before.
You have to believe that you can do it otherwise you have just set your mind up to fail.

I just don't have the time to exercise- if you truly want to, you will make time. You'll be surprised what you can achieve even with only a short bit of time.

Use positive language when talking to yourself.
Work on your mindset, believe that you can change. Believe that you are worth it!

Good ways to lose fat in the new year. 😁

Set small achieveable goals.

Eat more protein- protein will keep you fuller for longer and is great for your muscles.

Get your veg/fruit in. You don't need to eat CLEAN to lose fat. 80% of good healthy food is good enough.

Don't restrict yourself when it comes to your food. Make good food choices but have a bit of what you like too. Food restriction will leave you to crave and binge.

Move more, go for walks. Walking is a great way to start.

Lift weights! It's good for your body. You don't need endless cardio to lose weight.

Sleep- sleep is important for fat loss. Trying to lose fat with no sleep and a stressed body is like shoveling snow while it's still snowing..

Super excited that one of my clients has reached her goal..so proud of her. ❀️

The goal was simple for some but as we get older and we move less it's not that easy anymore. She simply wanted to sit on the bottom step of the stairs and after training with me and working on her goal she can now do it.

I love working with people who have a goal and really set.on doing it. It's never too late to start 😁

When you are staying at your friends who have a mini gym in her house. Workout time 😁 lovely time training my friend. She's all set up to start training now. Never lifted any weights before. Don't envy her legs and arms tomorrow πŸ˜‚

Great idea for dessert, it's really nice. 20g of protein and only 163 calories. I sprinkled a crushed up shortbread biscuit on top to add some crunch.
