I started this page to try to help people find accommodations when the hurricane hit... But everywhere I tired to share it it was deleted. So, sadly, I gave up.
Now as I'm struggling to rebuild our home on Fort Myers Beach I'm finding the same problem... The pages with all the members are more focused on tourism so my posts don't qualify. So I don't know where to post to discuss these topics and even my post asking where I could do that got deleted... Maybe I will try to get this page going for that reason. There are many important topics that need discussing...
*MEDIA RELEASE* For the safety of crews working on the Beach, effective immediately, no access will be permitted for the next week. This closure provides crews time to complete necessary search and rescue operations. Thank you for your understanding as we all adjust to this.
Perhaps those with empty guest rooms would be so kind as to host one of our recently displaced community. Even a very simple space is better than nothing and would be appreciated beyond words.

It looks like it will take many months to restore power to the island as the infrastructure has been totally destroyed. It isn't a repair it will be a rebuild
