What an emotional day! Congratulations to all our students, it was a privilege to receive messages and phone calls like this all day today. This is the first year that I have been involved with GCSE students and their results and it's been such a wonderful day finding out all the plans for their next steps.

Our final 8.00am reading tuition lesson! Today, we wrote our own comprehension questions for our friends to answer. We have worked hard this term on answering questions about vocabulary and using our inference and retrieval skills so it was fun to apply our knowledge in this way. Great work, Tuesday Team 😊

We're loving our new Collins storytelling cards. This Year 4 student has been really inspired by them and we're focusing on using speech to help tell a story. They can be used verbally with younger children and there are parent notes on the back. Extremely versatile. Not an advert, just really enjoying using them at the tuition centre.

Noughts and crosses as a reading game! We love playing this one. My student was 'crosses' and had to read the word correctly before making her mark. She beat me fair and square today! We were using words from the Year 1 and 2 Common Exception word list that she hasn't quite remembered yet.

A real lightbulb moment today - understanding how to check your answers using an inverse calculation. We used simple Maths to illustrate how it works 2+3=5 so 5-3=2. Then we moved on to using bar models and now column methods for addition and subtraction. Fabulous work from this Year 3 student.
