HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!! 🌹Today I want to Celebrate Women All Over the World, who have been the driving force for us to stand up, stay strong & keep going even when things get tough.
*
I especially want to celebrate the two most important women in my life, My Mother, AMI & My Sister, ZEN who have been my greatest support & influence. For those who don’t know I named my business after them to honor my sister who is no longer with us & my mother who survived this tragic loss.
*
Ami, means mother in urdu & Zen was my sisters nickname, short for Zainub.
*
My mother always taught me to be self sufficient and never rely on anybody to take care of me. She encouraged me from a young age to be financially independant and to always work hard. She still till today pushes me to do more and to do better. I don’t know any woman in my life at her 75 years of age that still works 6 to 7 days a week and as hard as she does.
*
And my beautiful sister Zen gone too soon would have done incredible things for women and this world. She studied international relations, wanted to join the peace corps and the United Nations. She also co-created a humanitarian project called “Afghans For Afghans” that helps troubled people of Afghanistan. She was all about encouraging cross-cultural understanding and giving back. She will always be with us and remembered for for her compassion and beautiful heart.

These two amazing women have been my inspiration to create ZEN-AMI, which is about Cerishing Life, Cultures & Craft. While Sharing Stories and Giving Back. Thanks for supporting us Zen-Ami. It means so much. 💞🌹🙏🏼
