Bulinski Effect Pedals

The Creature Preachers have always been fascinated by the intersection of surf and horror. All the reverb, vibrato bends and minor chords and scales always make the music sound haunted to them. The surf and horror connection already existed in their collective minds, so when they discovered horror surf during their musical journey, it just made sense.
We interviewed The Creature Preachers and you can check out our feature on them in issue 1 of Reverb International. Grab that issue now or grab both issues 1 & 2!

Testing PNP transistors for our soon to be released Special Edition Germanium Gnarly Bee. This is an amazing transistor batch. Average leakage is 20 - 40 uA, and not a single one over 100 uA!
The Velociraptor Diode Bass Fuzz is made for bass, so there’s no low frequency lost.
The Creature Preachers will be making a creepy and triumphant return to this year's Southern Surf Stompfest (https://www.facebook.com/events/413661338297838) and will surely be dragging their signature icked-out swamp surf sound with them. Attend and bear witness...if you dare.
If you want to see them in the interim, you can go to Nowhere Bar in Athens, GA on September12, where they'll be playing with our Athens-based cohorts Serf Lords, which will surely be a good time. I'd recommend catching them at both, of course. You can't have TOO MUCH surf music (just ask anyone who's ever attended Stompfest). If you HAD to choose just one...I mean, I know which one I'd choose. But it's your decision. I can't make it for you. I know you'll make the right one. To come to Stompfest. At The Avondale Town Green. On September 28th.
Our effect pedals are designed and assembled in Orlando, FL U.S.A.

Another shot of our last custom spring reverb project. We got a lot of really good feedback on this one, so there will definitely be more to come in the future.
Real spring reverb CAN fit on your pedalboard with our Analog Spring Driver pedals. The ASD-1 pedal drives the spring tank under the pedalboard.

A Witco inspired custom spring reverb unit we built. The internal circuitry is our clone of the FET reverb circuit that is based on the Fender 6G15. So yes, it drips. Very surfy.
Fuzz, spring reverb, and slap back delay. Three of our favorite classic effects.

The Bulinski ASD-1 is an effect pedal that drives a spring tank for a real spring reverb effect. This video shows how we mount the spring tank to the bottom of a pedalboard.
When people ask “Have you tried this reverb circuit with a ________ model spring tank?”, the answer is always YES.
Some new reverb project on the drawing board. Got some exciting new stuff coming soon!
Constantly assembling ASD-1 reverb tank driver pedals to keep up with orders. I had no idea that this would become our most popular pedal model when we first created it. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way!
Make sure y’all clear your Saturday evening this weekend, cause we have a treat in store! We’ll be making our first appearance in Columbus, GA with our good friends Vickis Dream at Blue Canary Record Shop!!
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., music starts at 7:00 p.m., and the good times run all the way through! Come show up, show out, and don’t be late!

Here’s our first germanium Fuzzrite effect circuit. All electronic components are vintage parts that were never used until now. There was a little oxidation on the leads we had to remove, but everything functions as if it was just manufactured.
We did our best to recreate the earliest Fuzzrite. The germanium transistors on this board are 2N1305, which does not match the part numbers in the original, but they were tested to make sure their hfe matches the average specs of the 2N408 and 2N2613 that were used in the original. We are ok with this deviation because after all, the variability in germanium transistor specs in the 1960s was so high that any two germanium Fuzzrites may have sounded as if they were completely different fuzz pedals. The most important thing is that we stuck to germanium and selected for gains that the original design intended.
The ASD-2 spring reverb pedal has a real Accutronics mini spring tank inside. And like the ASD-1, it also has RCA jacks so you can connect a larger spring tank if you want.
The Dubba Dubba Doo is designed to give you huge bass! How? The audio signal first passes through one of two low pass filters that you select with the toggle, so the higher end frequencies are removed. Then, the remaining lower frequency signal gets amplified by a single silicon transistor to give you even more volume than the unaltered, pre-circuit signal.
Boxing up some Hound Dog Delay effect pedals.
The ASD-1 spring reverb pedal sounds so good driving this Accutronics spring tank with a Fender tweed amp.
The Hound Dog Delay is a short delay effect for creating the slap back echo sounds of the 50’s. Yes, that is our hound dog Satchmo featured on the pedal!
We assemble the ASD-1 spring reverb drivers here at our shop in Orlando, Florida U.S.A.
The ASD-1 will drive the spring reverb tank you connect to the RCA jacks on the pedal, so you can have real spring reverb on your pedalboard.
The Gnarly Bee Retro Fuzz is our clone of the Mosrite Fuzzrite effect pedal circuit. This is one of the great American fuzz effects of the 1960’s, with a very unique fuzz tone.
A few of our most popular pedal models…
Left side photo is inside an original germanium Mosrite Fuzzrite. Right side is some of the unused vintage capacitors and resistors I recently acquired so I can recreate the original germanium version. There were only a couple hundred of the original germanium Fuzzrites made before they switched to silicon transistors. I personally have never had the chance to play through an original germanium transistor Fuzzrite. But I need to. More about this project coming soon!
